It's terrible that we harbor those within our midst who would resort to this sort of base terrorism in order to accomplish their goals. Those responsible must either be cowards or anarchists, for little can be accomplished through acts such as these. Real change can only occur through the use of careful diplomacy, and if force must be resorted to, ( Read more... )

I am unsurprised to see that you think that way.

I do admit a certain amount of jealousy. I wish I had been capable of organizing a disruption of this magnitude myself, but I shall have to settle for making due with the aftermath... though I feel involving this many victims was hardly a wise choice on the perpetrator's part.

It depends on their intention, I believe.

Of course. Their intention is what has me worried.

That's rather idealistic.

Although, I do agree with you. Totally.

I suppose it is... revolution is rarely bloodless, but avoiding needless loss of life is a worthwhile aim.

Do you? Interesting. I find most either believe that revolution is a detestable thing regardless of form, or that they believe bloody strife is the only way to accomplish anything. It's rare to find those who are willing to face the difficulties involved in forging the middle ground.

This is an inelegant effort by someone who wishes to cause mass hysteria. To what end, I cannot guess.

I would lean more toward the idea that it was anarchists. Perhaps things will come to light when someone raises his hand to claim credit for the bombing.

Given the deplorable loss of life, I suspect you may be right. Actions like these will only galvanize public opinion and likely usher in more stringent control policies. Not something those interested in working with the existing establishment would wish to cause.

Exactly. If the perpetrator's goal was to promote peace, progress, or other beneficial things for the country, this is an unlikely method of achieving it.

The true goal may not reveal itself for some time yet... it could be a Vohemaro plot or the act of some deranged mind that cares not for the outcomes their actions create. I fear we will simply have to wait and see what reveals itself.

I can only go where my ship goes, Gintoki. If we are recalled to the capital, I will return and render whatever aid I can.

It's not an excuse, it's a simple statement of fact. It's not as if you're helping, either.
