Veronica had invited Lilly and Meg over for lunch. She had something very important to ask them both.

Meg showed up and carried with her a basket of freshly baked sugar cookies. "I'm starving," she told Veronica.

Lilly was cheerful as she showed up. "Hi there."

Veronica grinned. "Hey, guys, right on time, come on in," she said, ushering them to the dining room. "I've got some sandwiches and salad for lunch."

Meg was wearing her 'Ask, then touch' t-shirt and seemed to positively glow as she came in, set the cookies down on the table, and took her seat. "This all looks so good." Then she spared a sheepish glance at Lilly. "I'm pregnant." If she hadn't noticed or heard the news by now.

After spending the morning out running errands, Isabel finally made it back after lunch.

"Hey," she said, as she came into the kitchen. "How'd lunch go?"

"Great," Veronica said. "I have bridesmaids!"

"Good, then I'll cross hiring fill-in bridesmaids off my list," Isabel teased.

Veronica rolled her eyes. "And you'll be happy to know that they were just as appalled as you at my lack of dress. So we're going shopping on Sunday. Care to join us?"
