Veronica was sleeping. She was greatly enjoying it.
Too bad it wasn't going to last.
Chase
"Mommy." A small hand pushed at her shoulder. "Mommy, wake up!"
Veronica
Veronica groaned. "Lilly, let Mommy sleep for a little bit longer, please?
Yes, she was so tired that she didn't realize the voice she heard belonged to a little boy, rather than a little girl.
Chase
"Mommy, I am not a girl!" Chase sounded rather indignant at the thought.
Veronica
That woke Veronica up. She sat straight up and stared at the little boy standing next to her bed. "Okay, honey. You're gonna have to help me out here. I'm a little... confused this morning.
Chase
Chase sighed. "Christo!" he yelled. When nothing happened, he sighed again. "Mommy, what's wrong?"
Veronica
Oh no. Veronica had a feeling she knew who this little boy belonged to. "Do you know about different universes?" she asked. After he nodded, she said, "Well, I think you might be in a different universe than you're used to. Or I am. But can you remind Mommy of your name?"
Chase
"I'm Chase Winchester!" he said proudly. "And this doesn't look like our house, so I think I'm in the wrong place, but it's not my fault!"
Rose
Before Veronica got a chance to question Chase any further, the door to her bedroom pushed open and an unfamiliar little girl walked in. "Mom? Where are we?"
Veronica
Veronica facepalmed. "Well, honey, I'm pretty sure you and your brother somehow ended up in the wrong dimension."
Rose
Rose wrinkled her nose at Chase. "I don't have a brother," she said. "Where's Mama?"
Veronica
That was unexpected. Veronica gave the girl a puzzled look. "Um... I'm not sure. Why don't you tell me your name and who Mama is?"
Rose
"I'm Rose Halliwell-Mars," the girl said. "You're my mom and Piper is my mama."
Lilith
Veronica was saved trying to figure out how to respond to that when another girl shimmered into the room. "Mom! Where's Dad? Why aren't you at home? What is this place?"
Veronica
The shimmering thing clued Veronica in to who this one meant by 'Dad'. Once she got over the shock, she surveyed the three kids in front of her. "All right. So you're all my kids in some world. But not this one. I know you must all understand about parallel universes because of who your parents are. Why don't we go get some breakfast and see if we can figure out how to get you back where you belong before your parents freak out?"
She was impressed with how rational she was while talking to children that she apparently had with Dean, Piper and Cole.
"But first, why don't you tell me your name, sweetie?" she asked the newcomer.
Lilith
"Lilith Renee Turner," she said, eying Veronica and the other kids. But she didn't sense any evil, so she didn't conjure up any fireballs.
Lilly
A sleepy Lilly wandered in at that moment. "Mommy, what's going on?" she asked, rubbing her eyes and scowling at the other kids.
Veronica
Veronica sighed. "All these kids got lost from their mommies and daddies," she explained. "So I'm going to help them get home. They're from different dimensions, like how you have three Uncle Logans and they all have mommies like me at home."
Lilly
"Oh."
Lilly wondered how these kids managed to end up in the wrong dimension. "Can we have breakfast?"
Veronica
Veronica shook her head and smiled. "Yeah, breakfast sounds good. Come on, guys."
She figured she could think better after coffee.
