Oh, that could be it. My one lamb kidney is 0.14 lb. Which is about normal? Probably depends upon age of animal? Although at some point it becomes mutton kidney.

I posted this before you called! I did make kidney scrambled eggs. The kidney smelled how I expected it to smell, so it wasn't bothersome. Very lamby. The Goddamn ureter wouldn't come out. The eggs turned slightly mauve from the meat as they cooked, so if you like your food to look good, maybe kidney scrambled eggs are not for you. I used more milk than I normally do, and whole instead of skim, and I added pepper and salt before cooking and pepper and Tabasco after because I could still smell the pee.

The texture/feel of kidney is amazing omg, like if silicone and Jell-O had a baby. I was hesitant to cook it lol, IT FELT TOO COOL

One time I had hot and sour soup that smelled so much like pee I couldn't eat it. That was disturbing because it should have nothing to do with kidneys.

The pee. I rinsed it when I took it out of the package and again when I got most of the ureter out. And still.

Oops, important detail. It was good. It was definitely gamy, it has a mushroom something going on, so if you like neither, don't eat lamb kidney. Not much like liver iirc.
