I (as you know) love your avatar, so I hope you leave it as is. I just wanted to give you a virtual hug and tell you that my animals, cats and dogs alike, are my family. You just lost an important member of your family, and far too early. You made a very unselfish decision that you should never second-guess; he lived surrounded by love, and it was because of your love for him that you chose to end his suffering. I made the mistake of trying to keep one of my cats alive as long as I could, and in the end I felt horrible for letting her suffer just so I could avoid the inevitable. Give Dexter's sibs hugs from us, and take care of yourself- you've got a large segment of the SoCal feline community that depends on you!
