Dear Poppy,

Thank you so much for thinking of me but I'm afraid I really wouldn't suit. Of course as a general stock manager or part time 'baby sitter' I will be delighted to help out whenever I can but as to actually manning the infirmary during term time I'm just not qualified.
There's a level of knowledge involved in medical magic that is as far beyond the knowledge of the ordinary witch or wizard as the skill and expertise of the old style Aurors like Tonks and Kingsley is above their modern day equivalent. I simply wouldn't feel right in taking the job under false pretences. Formulating and testing medical charms is a far cry from knowing the correct application of them in an emergency!
However - you are perfectly right in saying that nobody can be expected to work twenty-four hours a day. If at some time you need a break I'll be happy to assist your assistant, if that would be any help?

Yours

Gil
