[ Phone | Filtered from Drones ]
As you may have heard from Mr. Edelstein's
phone call, there will hopefully be a concert come this November. I am asking myself if there would be anyone interested in attending so that I can see how many seats, tickets, and possibly concessions we'll need. If you'll give me your name and where I can find you, it

This is a big step for her. She couldn't even stand up to verbal teasings herself...]
Hey! Y-You all! Stop that. R-Right now! Leave her be...

Oh yeah? What are you gonna do?
[ She's still struggling. Maybe if she tries hard enough, they'll go away. ]

[There is no way she could feel more nervous about this. Every muscle is tense, and she feels like she's about to jump out of her skin.]
Reply
Uh, well, you see - she started to say really nasty things to us and we were going to tell you 'bout them, teach!
[ And Diana could not have given them enough of a lineface at that. ]

What?

I've noticed you're not yourself. What's up?

Town pulled shit. Standard stuff. [Except it's clearly not standard, because she seems way too depressed and/or angry for it to be standard.]

She decides to take a stab in the dark about this. ]
Was someone dear to you taken by the town?

[ Minako's tone is her business-like tone as usual, yes, but there's a rather harsh quality to it for once, sort of like controlled anger. She isn't particularly afraid of the bullies. Actually, not at all, really. This is the girl who (even untransformed) has kicked grown men and youma alike into walls, a few drone bullies don't intimidate her.
Especially not when the one they're harassing is someone she knows. Not that she normally already doesn't have a sense of justice. ]
Why don't you go do something more useful with your time?
Reply
[ The kids look at Minako, still holding Diana up to the lockers. She seems scary, but then again - what can a girl do other than cook and clean? ]
Huh? Go off and play with your dolls, girly. She's got a lesson to learn here.

[ She doesn't move just yet - she doesn't want to be the one to initiate a fight and get into trouble, after all. But if they attack first, it's merely self-defense, right? That doesn't mean that she's stopping using that piercing cold stare on the boys. ]
Just let her go and continue being useless somewhere else.
Reply
[ They don't seem to mind being called useless because they totally and utterly believe that they have the higher ground here. ]
Oh, come off it already. You're in a losing fight he-- [ That earns her a knee into the stomach. Urp. ]

[Even moreso, she wanted to congratulate the girl for getting those parts out of the shop. As such, when Diana leaves the garage and makes it down the block--just out of earshot of any drones from the garage--Riza will smile and nod at her.]
It isn't always easy to distract them, is it?
Reply
You're right, but it does tend to get easier if you know how to talk their language.
[ And, boy, has she learned fast during her time at Mayfield. ]

It also helps if you're good enough at costuming to pull of being someone else for a little while, though that's a tad more risky. The drone at the hardware store still hasn't noticed just yet that I'm not who I say I am.
[She smiles. Good job, Diana. She's proud of your efforts.]
Did you manage to get whatever it is that you needed from them?
Reply
[ She does smirk in approval at what Riza has done. At this point, she likes you already. Hey, she's getting along with you at least! ]
Yes, I did. I plan on doing that sort of thing every so often to see if I'm still good at, oh... charming them. [ And after that, there's a short chuckle. ]

It isn't very polite to shove others against lockers, you know.
[And with that, he reaches up and yanks at the other boy's collar, frowning. Diana was nice to him and had helped him out--a lot. They wouldn't get away with bullying her, not while he was nearby.]

Beat it. We're teaching her a lesson.
I'm sure there's hardly anything you buffoons can teach me.
[ Somehow, she's still snarky as hell. But, the kid does look at Kid and snarls at him. ]
Lemme go. We're not done with her yet!
Reply
[He tightens his grip on the boy's collar, pulling back just a bit more. Kid might look small, but he's pretty strong. Reaper's son, and all that.]
If you don't intend on being done now, then I can't promise I'll let you go unharmed.
Reply
Tch, of course she'd have crazy idiot friends like you!
Yeah! Get away from here while we finish what we were doing. [ Says another bully who still has Diana shoved rather uncomfortably toward the locker. ]
