I am interested in the installation or addition of a functioning laboratory on the Barge.
(1) It would be benefit some of the residents who are aboard to have regulated access to such equipment to enable them use of their practical skills and a sense of familiarity which might otherwise not be achievable. (2) Given the recent distress and trauma of the general populace of "The Barge" as a whole, I am confident that the perception of progress toward a possible factual and scientific method of coping or overcoming the effects of these "floods" and "ports" would be reassuring. (3) For the study and understanding of those people here who are granted with capabilities that are not within the predetermined genetic structure of a Homosapien in an attempt to predict, manipulate, and control them in future based upon what is of greatest benefit to the populace as whole. (4) To enable scientists to collaborate in their research for productive ends. (5) To study the source of the neuropsychological ailments produced by The Barge during "floods" and "ports" in an effort to establish patterns of occurrence. With these correlations, we may be able to discover a cause or, barring that success, to at least begin work toward controlling their effects. (6) With the recently gained access to the engineering room, it would be beneficial to work toward the advancement and understanding of the foreign technology. This is evidenced by the crash of April 11th and our endeavor at repairs; we might have been able to complete affairs much sooner if had already possessed the proper knowledge. (7) It would provide additional occupations for inmates who, under mentored and regulated use, would be benefiting the populace as with other occupations and thus encouraging them to become productive members of society; it would encourage their redemption.
Below is a list of equipment I believe would be ideally suited based upon my knowledge of present technologies.
