Joan's much more accustomed to making arrangements, especially of the weekend getaway kind, which is why she feels somewhat out-of-sorts when all she has to do is pack a small bag and wait for her door to appear on Friday. In theory, Harry is the boss and can cut out early if he wants. In theory. In practice, he's leaving at 4:30, but that's because he's been at the station since 5:00.

He's not particularly tired, though, because he is both sensible and dull enough to have gone to bed early the night before. He leaves his luggage in the Bronco before he comes to Milliways, but he's wearing a longish flannel coat when he comes through.

He touches her on the shoulder by way of greeting, and when she turns towards him, adds a kiss.

She turns, one hand still resting around her drink, and when he kisses her briefly, that same hand abandons it to rise and touch his cheek in that moment.

"Hey, you."

Joan stands slowly, her hand moving from his cheek to his shoulder.

"All ready for me?"

"Yeah," he says; for a moment he's still, his hand still on her shoulder and his eyes meeting hers, and then he clears his throat. "Your chariot awaits, and all that." He reaches for her bag.

Her mouth quirks into a smile, and she takes a step back in order to make it easier for him to grab her bag.

She tries to hide her excitement over it all, but admittedly, even she knows she's doing a poor job as she follows him to his door.

"Quiet day at the station?"
