[So, Cissie's mother has spent most of the day reading through Cissie's old entries and watching the network and snooping around her daughter's room. Because that's how she rolls. And now she turns on the camera, sits back in Cissie's desk chair and lights a cigarette. She takes a drag before speaking.]So this is where my daughter has decided ( Read more... )

Private - Only vaguely better than Tim's dad.. gray_atonement May 8 2011, 05:07:00 UTC
Whatever you're picturing? It's much worse.

Private - You say that now. :| notarrowette May 8 2011, 05:25:13 UTC
Clever. You're a real charmer. Do you want to know what I'm picturing? I'm picturing my daughter--my smart, strong, stubborn daughter--in an emotionally abusive relationship with a man far too old for her who doesn't appreciate her nearly as much as he should. Am I close?

You forgot the physical abuse.

Ahh, now you're trying too hard. I know my daughter. I didn't raise her to be a victim. The first time you lay a hand on her, she'll leave you. She has more self respect than that. [Yeah, that's the way to let him know he didn't strike a nerve. :|]

Well aren't you a piece of work. My daughter holds yours in high regard, but from what I've seen it's remarkable that she survived her childhood at all.

And none of it was any thanks to you.

[Low blow, Mrs. Carpenter. LOW BLOW. Bonnie narrows her eyes.] What exactly is that supposed to mean?

[brittle smile] I'm sorry, should I speak in smaller words so that you understand? You were a danger to your daughter and the best thing you ever did for her was give up your parental rights.

[...Oh Charity. You don't pull your punches at all. Bonnie hates you already.] First of all, you should get your facts straight. I never gave up my daughter and I was not a danger to her. I taught her how to survive dangerous situations.

Woah. Harsh much? Geez...

So are you Bonnie King, then? Arrowette? Or, well, the first Arrowette? 'Cause... wow. [He hasn't really met Cissie, but he's judged this lady just from how she talks about Cissie and the mention of the name.]

AHAHA, THANK YOU FOR THIS <3 notarrowette May 8 2011, 05:56:12 UTC
Excuse me? [Oh man, what has Cissie been up to here, is she spouting off her secrets to everyone?? ...And Cissie will SO want to talk with you when this is over, Andrew.]

Hehe! My gosh, you're welcome! :D 82prctmoremanly May 8 2011, 06:03:02 UTC
[Because Andrew minds talking to the various super heroes here SO MUCH.]

You're Bonnie King! I didn't know Cissie was a warden... [That's mostly to himself, but he shrugs, because there's just so many people here, it's acceptable that he didn't notice.] Well, anyway, you're so shouldn't be talking, you know? I mean, you pushed Cissie like your mom pushed you? That sucks, dude! At least she didn't end up being sort of a bitch... [He realizes how much tact was in that and quickly tries to take it back.] I mean! Uh... well...

[...nope, can't fix it. Bonnie is a bitch.]

I am WAY too amused by this :D notarrowette May 8 2011, 06:27:04 UTC
[There are so many things to address here, where does she start?]

Who are you? How do you not know she's a warden, but know--any of that? [Muttering to herself] Misinformed anyway...

This flood explains a lot about the vast majority of people on the barge.

Of course. It's always the mother's fault, isn't it? And you're able to tell everything you need to from just a few sentences. You must be one hell of a psychiatrist.

I am. I'm sure Cissie also enjoys you openly discussing her problems with the entire barge. You have such respect for her privacy.

I'm touched by your concern. [No, she's not.] Which one of her friends are you?

[ He just looks at you. Eyebrow raised.

Silently judgmental, and waiting to see if you recognize him. ]

[And Bonnie just raises an eyebrow back at you, Bruce. She... totally recognizes you and thanks to reading through all of Cissie's stuff like the privacy-invading person she is, she knows about BATMAN now. But will forget that when she leaves because ha letting Bonnie in on that is a bad idea]

Have something to share with the class?

Simply that it's remarkable that she grew up the way she is, if this is the way you are.

It must be so satisfying to decide you know everything about a person after a few sentences. Tell me, Bruce, what way did my daughter grow up and how do you know it's not because of me?
