[Cissie stopped in the middle of the path and crossed her arms, debating which path would get them to the docks, instead of deeper into the island. Both sides of the fork were lined by electrical fences taller than them, and there seemed to be no way to tell which path led where.
She blew out a breath a turned to Isaac, lifting her shoulders in a shrug.] Which way? I can't tell.

[Isaac sighed. He had been awfully on edge since they left the boat, jumping at every sound, eyes shifting about each time they stopped. He was being a difficult inmate today and he felt bad for it, but this place was just too dangerous.]

[Cissie exhaled heavily and counted to ten before saying anything. She could tell he'd been miserable since they left the Barge, and normally she could handle that and would have worked harder to cheer him up, but... Honestly, the last week or so had left her completely worn out and feeling disillusioned. She had been looking forward to port as a break from the cloud hanging over her on the Barge, but it hadn't exactly been fun so far, aside from seeing some really cool dinosaurs earlier--not that Isaac had thought they were so great.]
Well, that's kind of what I'm trying to do, [she said, a little shorter than she intended.] Which way do we think goes to the beach?

[Isaac wasn't purposefully trying to annoy his warden, but it was hard to be anything but negative when he was so wound up and nervous. Nothing about this place gave him a moment to relax, especially when he was certain he had painted a great deal of it. Dinosaurs weren't exactly cool either--they were frightening.]
I don't know. [Another sigh as he surveyed the area, trying to find some hint of where the beach might be. After a few uncertain moments, he gestures to the lefthand path.] Maybe this way. It look like this one leads downhill a bit more.

Back to the Barge, if it's my decision.
