Hmm... proper incantations and training vs raw ability? Ummmm... where I come from, there are many people who will never, ever be sorcerers. The vast majority of the population, in fact. Our magic requires raw talent in addition to training to refine it. I suppose someone with very little magical talent could still cast some simple, practical spells.
For the most part, anyone should be able to cast any magic they happen to study...

Well, that's how it works back home as well. Few can become sorcerers, though the ones that have the potential need the proper training in order to spellcast correctly. The only thing is, there are certain branches of magic that even training will not help if you do not have the particular ability for it. Clairvoyance, as an example. I was wondering if necromancy would be the same.
