Day Ten: One Confession

Actually, I hate it. But I’m fighting to stop those drones from spreading their nano-machines to anyone else. I don’t have a choice, because not only do I feel responsible in helping my friends stop this, I can’t just do nothing. And it appears that Xargin (the one I know more) isn’t going to listen to

At least you're not alone going through this. You have your friends and me. Being able to sleep at night must come as a relief and feeling normal too, right? [He touched her shoulder.]

I made a promise to look after you and care for you. I intend to keep that through everything, Mari. It's nice to hear you speak as if there is hope after all of this. I believe there is and will always be.

[She glances to him, and addresses him calmly.] I know I'm not alone. Far from it.

It's most definitely a relief that Xargin's not intruding my dreams anymore. And for once, I've stopped running from him, because I was just done with that, y'know? I actually pushed back, for once. [He started the pushing, not her.] And with the help of you and my other friends around, we got him to back off. [Of course, she was really pissed at Xargin in the process--but she kept it together fairly well, right? She didn't attack her friends. Didn't act like one of those freaking drones and tried to infect them.]

I've got these useful abilities still, and I'd prefer to keep using them to help our friends. For protecting the people around us. It's just personal to me, all the trouble Xargin caused. Not just on what happened to me, but when he started this war.

[In a quiet voice, she adds;] I can't help but be angry or worried about it.

[From there, her voice returns to a normal calm.] I'd like to keep things going on inside me under my control,

At least he's stopped the onslaught of giving you nightmares and forced visions within your sleep. Hopefully, you can find some restpit from that. [He touched her cheek.]

I don't doubt your control, Mari. In fact, you're one of the most patient and strong people I've met.
