{Kaoru was elated. Despite the circumstances surrounding the whole thing, it was a joyous occasion, and you only got married once. (Well...for most people, that is.) They were surrounded by friends, in a safe place, and, well, she was married. She couldn't quite get over that fact, almost afraid that it was a dream (though, in her dreams it hadn't

[He was, of course, elated that he and Kaoru had finally said the vows and were married. Actually married. He had never thought he would be in this situation again. To say it gave him renewed strength to ensure the fools didn't succeed would also be an understatement.]
[He glanced to his wife, smiling tiredly at her.]
[Himura Kaoru.]
[Even with all that had happened... that simple phrase--those two names entwined together--boggled his mind. How he deserved her, he would never know. But he would protect her, and he would make her happy. It was a silent oath to himself, although he was sure she knew it as well without him telling her.]

I hope you know that just because we're married now, doesn't mean I'm going to start doing all the housework.

Of course not de gozaru.
[He resisted the urge to touch her hair while others were in the room, despite the fact that the only people who would find it forward would be Megumi-dono, Mudou-dono and Miroku-dono. Well... arguably the kitsune-woman would find it terribly amusing rather than forward... Instead he gave her hand a second squeeze, smiling at her, the expression finally fully reaching his eyes.]

...I think I like this better than a large wedding. It's nice.
{Though, in the back of her mind she wished she could replace a few people with her friends from back home.}

I'm so glad you could come~! And thank you! Again.
{Even though she was sincere, her thoughts were obviously elsewhere.}

[She grinned.] I was happy to. I'm honored that you invited me. [Her brow creased a little at Kaoru's gratitude.] And it's not a problem, really. If you need anything, anything at all, let me now, okay?
But... [She glanced at the door.] D is still waiting out there... and we really should be going. [She looked back to Kaoru and without ceremony reached out and pulled the other woman into a friendly hug.] You two stay safe, okay?

{Kaoru nodded as Doris said she had to leave.} That's alright, I understand! This was such short notice any--
{Kaoru turned rigid when Doris pulled her into a hug. It was unexpected, and Kaoru didn't know why and had no warning. Not really knowing what to do she just kind of stood there, looking rather flustered.}
Y-You stay safe too!

[When all was said and done, she moved up to greet the newlywed couple by giving them a deep bow.]
Congratulations and well wishes, Kaoru-san, Ken-san.
[However, her fox ears seemed to twitch a moment, and without warning, she gave her Ken-san a hug.]
Perhaps one last hug for now, perhaps~? Ohohohoho!
[She moved away with a smug grin and returned to Kaoru-san.] Let me have a word with you, Kaoru-san~? ♥

Oro!?! [She let go much faster than normal, leaving him with a terrible blush on his face--really on his wedding day.]

{Well, she had been happy to have her there...would it ever end?!}
Can't. It. Wait?!
{Kaoru was actually blocking Kenshin by now, looking rather possessive.}

There was a distinct lack of kissing during that ceremony.
[ooc: Did they ring exchange dear?]

Mou, Eliza-dono it is extremely improper to hold hands in public de gozaru. Why would we kiss in front of our guests at our wedding de gozaru ka? Lang-dono made the same remarks...
[He was really starting to question the morals of all Westerners in general...]

THAT would be improper.

While he was very happy for them, he also worried... because he always worried. This threat they had upon them was not a small one and he did not think it was right that good people had to hide like this. Life never seemed to be fair, did it?*
Congratulations to you both.

Best of wishes, Himura-san.
She seems like a truly good woman.
*he paused, and then smiled again. He had not wanted to insult anyone by not having sake to celebrate the newlyweds, but one cup was enough to make him a bit light-headed*
It has been a good day, my friend.
