[click, there's Joshua's back. He sort of haphazardly dropped his communicator on the counter.]

I suppose this is normal? [He turns and right at the center of his collarbone is the glowing mark. He looks mildly curious before he huffs a sigh and shrugs.] Really, all these mysteries are tiring to investigate. I'm not really a laborer.

Yes, that mark is completely normal. The effects to it? Not so much. That's ancient magic at work here. From what I've seen, whatever is going on is, at least, interesting.

[ Oh, Naoya hasn't touched the coral again yet, so he was still himself. He wasn't that stupid, not after what had happened last time--he would hold off as long as possible. ]

Ah, it's a good thing so many people were willing to test it for me. Looks like it isn't truly radioactive--it just seemed to have drastically changed them.

[ Yeah, that was pretty useful. Those children were nothing if not amusing to him. ]

A permanent change? And why have some of us not been affected? [He shrugs.] Curiouser and curiouser. [He doesn't sound that concerned. Honestly it's better than being bored right? It's just magic.]

[And now he smiles. Ah, red eyes. Just what he was looking for.] I don't believe we've met.

Who knows. It's too early to say for now--if it wears off, it's possible that it's some form of a curse. It wouldn't be unlike a demon to place one on humans, after all.

[ Mm, he heard that statement about red eyes prior, but he wasn't the only one with them, so who's to say it was him? He'd have to confirm that first. ]

Ah, were are my manners? I don't suppose we have, have we? [ Something tells you he doesn't really care about manners in the least. ] ... Naoya. I assume someone you know is here by the sound of it--Neku, was it?

[ He has suspicions--he'd almost thought of the boy as a duplicate of someone he knew, after all. He just had to double-check. ]

My, you sound quite knowledgeable on these matters. Run into demons often?

[He hums to himself at that. Neku was too vague when he mentioned Naoya for Joshua to get a good idea if there was some bad blood in whatever encounter they've had. It could be messy if that was the case but-]
Oh, you've met Neku? He's something of a- [a pause as he tugs idly at his bangs.] business partner. Back in Shibuya of course.

[Back to the smirk] He did mention something very interesting about ice pillars and the barrier. Magic, as you said.

It seems normal, I believe- coming in contact with the coral causes some sort of reaction within the mark to make it begin glowing like that.

[He doesn't have any side effects from it, though...he shakes his head and gives a sigh.]

I say, it looks like many of you are the types of people to use others to do your dirty work. Not that I disapprove, but to have so many users and not enough people to use...[He smirks.] It'll get nowhere, really, if you want to find those mysteries out.

Though the glowing isn't the only symptom. [he uncrosses his arm, smirk crossing his face.] My, that coral is very interesting, isn't it?

[and he smirks just a little more at that remark about dirty work.] Who says I want the mysteries to be solved? We assume answers will inevitably lead us to an escape. It's possible I want to stay, they are rather accommodating, don't you think?

Really? I just came here a few days ago. Pray tell, what other symptoms are there?

[He just shakes his head and grins at that.] Oh, well then, be my guest. But I suppose that staying here for you is better because you don't want to go back where you came from. In a less euphemistic way of referring to it, you're being sort of a coward, don't you think?

You hardly have to take a few steps without running into one. The coral, the marks, the overly helpful townspeople. And, of course, why and how we're here in the first place.
