Kris as the POV character really works...and this is not just my super Jie/Noona fan status talking here. His sense of responsibility as leader, which in the previous story it was clear he didn't really want to be, and feeling kind of off by not being in the leader role, the same role he didn't want LOL. I love that Yixing, Jongin, and he are close enough that they read EXACTLY how he's feeling

I'm glad to see you're still enjoying the series despite the long wait between parts! (And naturally a Kris POV would be of most interest to you, I know. ^_^) I think when they made the agreement that Kris would be the leader, it was because he didn't want to be subject to anyone else's decisions - he never expected to be trying to keep such a large group of people all pointed in the same direction and, you know, actually leading
( ... )
I like how responsible Kris was as a leader! I remembered he said he doesn't want to be responsible to any decisions made but clearly he takes good care of everyone and takes his role as leader to heart..It's great this chapter was in his pov. The addition of Jongdae in their group highlighted Kris' instinct to lead somehow.. I love how everyone interacts with everyone ;w; I'm in love with your chartacters T^T
( ... )
Kris's leadership skills are definitely improving as he goes along and acquires more people to take responsibility for! It's coming as a bit of a surprise to the poor guy, I think. (Not nearly as surprised as he'll be when he sees Chanyeol in action...)
I'm having a lot of fun writing the character interactions - ensemble pieces like this are very enjoyable for me - so I'm glad you're liking them too. :-) Now I have to figure out how the rest of them will interact...
Jongin blushing is very pretty indeed. There will be more of them in the next fic, because I think it's time to have some of Lu Han's side of the story and they're finally in a position where his POV wouldn't cause spoiler issues.
If Kris has trouble with himself and Yixing, I can only imagine how much more uncomfortable he will be with Chanyeol's transformation, especially since it probably involves him bursting into flames. :P
I really, really love your group dynamics. Although I don't mind pairings, I liked how you only have one really and allow it to take second to the other relationships. It's a nice contrast from many of the stories I see here.
Oh, and awesome Jongdae is awesome. \(^o^)/ You gave his character just the right amount of idiocy and sass. ( Disco squid? I always thought it looked more like a scorpion but XD) Can't wait to see the amount of posterior that will be kicked with Tao helping him. ^^
Chanyeol's should be pretty spectacular when he finally appears, yes! That ought to be fun to try to put into words...
Thank you! This whole thing started off with the idea of it being a krisyeol story, but somehow lukai happened instead, and Chanyeol still hasn't appeared, so I guess it's not turning out that way. I like having a pairing in there but a plot like this doesn't really need one, and there's no way I could keep them moving forward properly (and with the POV changes) if the whole thing was about some grand romance. That can wait for sidequests. ;-)
I wasn't much interested in Jongdae when I started writing this series but I've really grown to appreciate him, so I'm glad he's coming across okay! Tao will have his turn to shine in a bit - the Summon who wants to shower with everyone, and wears a lot of skull-print...
Oh my god I was so happy when I saw this was updated, I'm pretty sure I squealed out loud. I loved this segment so much, I can't even pinpoint a certain part because it was all just great. I've been super excited for Nibelheim for awhile now and it totally didn't disappoint, though I got worried as soon as they found the safe. Lost Number was always a bitch to beat. Luckily they have a unicorn on their side! I enjoyed the black robe reference too, lol. It was nice to have Kris's POV as well, and I loved the Kris/Baekhyun scenes. I know they're not a pairing here, but they're one of my favorites so even just in the form of their odd little friendship it's nice. Not to mention that I enjoy any scene with Baekhyun <3
Anyway, now that I'm having crazy feels for this verse, time to go reread the other parts to hold me over! I'm really excited for Rocket Town and Tao~
Yay! Niebelheim was always going to be the end of this part (I hadn't counted on Cosmo Canyon, though) so I'm glad it worked out okay for you. I hate Lost Number, but he does make for an excellent boss battle, and I really wanted an excuse to get Yixing to transform (so, you know, lots of injuries required).
I enjoyed the black robe reference too, lol
The more in-jokes I can work in, the better. ;-) Too bad I ran out of characters or I could've had someone sleeping in the basement...
The long, plotty ones always seem to go to Kris - I guess because he's the one who started them off on this quest, effectively, and ones from Jongin's POV tend to be more about his relationship with Lu Han. Which I love, but it doesn't do much to further the plot. (Neither does the Kris/Baekhyun bromance, but that's also a lot of fun to write. I do love a nice bit of banter!)
Well, there's quite a bit to re-read now, I guess, before further adventures next year. Thank you for the lovely comment! <3
Haha, when you mentioned the locked door in the basement my first thought was "Aww, too bad there's no one left to be asleep in there, that would be amusing."
I'm glad it wasn't too confusing for you despite a lack of familiarity with the game. It's my favourite, so I'm keen to depict it well! I'm also looking forward to seeing how the reunion pans out - I don't plan much - so I guess I'll find out as I write!
