Full Name Harrison Ford Tweed.
Age 30.
Birthday March 15. The Ides of March.
Place of Birth Wellington, Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Occupation Owner of a spooky-themed restaurant and bar, The Walrus & The Carpenter. He still plays Nigel Venture the Australian explorer, and his band Caloo Calay frequents the stage in the restaurant's basement club. Because of the restaurant's location, Harrison has been appointed a Mirror Guard and he keeps the shard safe in a back room where Tales can come and go without being questioned. Though, staying true to his Tale, he often has a bit of fun with his duties, pretending that there's a secret password, making Tales solve a riddle in order to use the mirror, etc.
Fairytale Tweedledum from Through The Looking Glass and What Alice Found There.
Age of Realization 22.
Status Harrison is extremely proud of his past life. Therefore, he'll gladly tell anyone in the community who asks. And then probably write them a poem about it.
Ability None, except he still is a great storyteller.
Harrison Ford Tweed was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1978. His mother Betty was completely obsessed with Star Wars at the time of his birth, and since her husband Robert refused to let her name their son Han Solo, she instead chose to name him after the film’s leading actor. This did not make childhood easy for Harri. On one hand, he got called a nerd much of the time, and on the other hand, it got him a lot of unwanted, early attention from girls.
Harri’s mum was a homemaker and therefore spent the majority of her time with him as he grew up. His father, however, was New Zealand’s best brain surgeon and was seldom home. This put a strain on his parents’ marriage and they divorced when he was ten years old. Mrs. Tweed took Harri to live with her in a small apartment right in the middle of the city. She began working at a Laundromat and young Harri even went to work, trying his hand at being a librarian (too noisy), a painter’s apprentice (too clumsy) and finally settling on being a waiter. Harri wasn’t particularly happy to be working as young as fifteen, but it helped pay the bills and it made his mum proud, and that was enough for him.
Harri was absolutely devoted to his mum and they set up quite a life for themselves, away from the neglectfulness of his father. They both were busy working during much of the days, but every night they would come home and cuddle with each other on the couch. He was very much a “momma’s boy” but he didn’t care because they were happy. As long as he had his mother’s love, it didn’t hurt so bad that he only had one friend and no father to love him.
During his teens, Harri met and fell in love with Catharine Hobbs, a young American girl who was living in New Zealand while her father was stationed at an Air Force base. The two dated for about a year, while Catharine begged young Harrison to sleep with her. He politely declined, wanting to wait until after marriage so as not to "make the same mistake" that his mother and father had made. She continued to guilt trip him by telling him that he must not really love her if he wouldn't help her get laid before her eighteenth birthday.
Finally, one night, Catharine's emotional abuse took it's toll and he went against everything he believed in, out of the fear of her leaving, and slept with her. It turned out to be the worst decision of his life. A few weeks later, Catharine told him that she was pregnant. Overjoyed to hear this (having always loved children), he made plans for them to raise the child and live on their own, even going so far as to apply for another job. However, Catharine ignored his happiness and ended the pregnancy, as well as the relationship. Ever since, Harrison has been very shy and awkward in regards to sex and romantic closeness. He keeps this whole part of his past a closely-guarded secret and only a few people know.
Unfortunately, a few years after this whole devastating affair, his beloved mum was diagnosed with brain cancer and died. Harri was with her, holding her hand, when she passed away. And as he kissed her softly that final time, he suddenly remembered a collar marked ‘Dum’, a greedy walrus and a broken rattle. The realization that he was Tweedledum alarmed him greatly, and the fact that such an epiphany chose to occur on a day like that stunned the poor guy to tears.
Where once he was strong and brave, Harri’s now far more nervous and meek. Though the brilliance that he inherited from his father occasionally breaks through, there is a strong element of childlike innocence about him that has led many to wrongfully accuse him of being stupid. In 2000, right after the death of his mother, he left his home in Wellington and moved to New York to start a new life for himself. He started small, working as a waiter in many restaurants before developing the idea behind The Walrus & The Carpenter, a restaurant and bar with the spooky Tulgey Wood as its theme. This New York restaurant has become quite popular, especially with families and tourists looking for fun, and the club in its basement has been a showcase for local bands, including his own band, Caloo Calay. He lived in the typical tiny New York apartment for the first seven years of his "Tale Awareness", but he now resides with his wife Cassandra and they are expecting their first child. Despite years of pent-up frustrations and other unpleasant emotions, he has since reconciled with his father and is making more of an effort to keep in touch with him. After all, you only get one dad.
Harrison’s personality is difficult to gauge. At times, he can be quite cheerful and upbeat, but at other times he seems almost empty of emotion. He never yells or argues, but rather goes inside himself whenever he’s upset or angry. He’s a nervous fellow, so eager to please that he comes off as almost ridiculous. Being raised by his mother has had the effect of making him a chivalrous gentleman when it comes to girls, and he’s been known to give them flowers and other sweet gifts for no reason.
Although the son of a brain surgeon and quite well educated, Harri is slow to understand things and very naïve. This fact tends to make certain people immediately label him as “stupid”, however it is endearing if you take the time to get to know him and understand why he is that way.
Having grown up in New Zealand, Harri has an extremely thick New Zealand accent. For example, he pronounces I’s like E’s. He’s also got a dry, clever sense of humor. He’s a very awkward guy and he channels that awkwardness into his Nigel Venture persona.
He only had one friend growing up, so he views the Tale community as his great, big group of friends he’s always wanted. Despite being a bit of a nutter, he is quite friendly and easy-going, and he does his best to make everyone around him happy. He suffers from self-deprication bordering on low self-esteem, and cannot believe that anyone could possibly like him or want to include him in things. This makes him unassuming and quite grateful.
First Impression "...Wait, you're Harrison Tweed?!"
Appearance Tall and kind of weedy, with thick brown curls and handsome, dark features. Although he is tall, he often seems rather small because of his meekness. He does not have an imposing presence, so it is fairly easy to be comfortable around him. He walks calmly with a laid-back posture and he seems generally comfortable in his skin. He often dresses very casually -- his favorite shirt is a black and red striped sweater -- and he tends to favor comfort over style. However, he has the ability to make anything look good, even his tiger sweatshirt or footie pajamas. He also has a small tattoo on his upper right shoulder which says, in his mother's cursive,
"Remember".
Relationship To Tweedledum Although Harrison is nowhere near as crazy and/or rude as his original incarnation (thankfully), he has moments of extreme zaniness and childlike excitement. He can become very animated if he's engaged in a conversation or situation that he loves. He remains very poetic and he uses rhymes and silly wordplay quite often. Because of his past relationship with young Alice, he adores children and is very much a child at heart. Also, much like in his Tale, he gets very upset if his possessions are stolen or destroyed. Then, and only then, does his rude Tweedledum come out.

~DISCLAIMER~ I am not Harrison Tweed. Tweedledum belongs to Lewis Carroll and Bret McKenzie belongs to himself. However, Harri belongs to me. A lot of time and thought has gone into this character, so please do not steal him and use him on another site or I will hunt you down and cry in your face. And no one wants that.
