[the camera briefly flickers on, in an attempt to get audio working. There's a red smudge over much of the lens, where she's picked the device up, but it's easy enough to make Laura out in the recording. A rather bloody Laura, at that; hands, arms, face, hair and all. The feed cuts out, and switches to audio. There's nothing but static for a moment

Okay. That's good. Weird but good. It could be some sort of curse. There's been so many different ones this weekend. Are you okay?

[a measured pause, whereby she's torn between ignoring him and actually responding. Eventually, she gets to her feet, and the sound of the door unlocking can be heard on the other side. She promptly resumes sitting against the floor.]

[He can be patient and he is until he hears her move closer, unlock the door, and move away again. He opens it slowly and barely blinks at the bloody mess in front of him when he steps in and closes the door behind him. The smell is more than familiar. He pulls a battered cheap paperback from his back pocket and then sits down across from her against the door.]

Just thought I'd keep you company if you don't mind.

I do not mind. [she knows that Logan, of all people, isn't going to be bothered by the blood, but she studies his reaction regardless. There's barely anything to pick up on. After a long moment of staring, she says] What are you reading?
