Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Slight anthropomorphism in movies. He can handle things (clumsily) in his paws as if they were hands. I don’t think this counts as an ability, however, due to most characters being slightly anthropomorphic. Besides that, he still has the natural abilities of a grey wolf. His smell is around 14 times better than a human’s (for instance he can smell where someone has been, even if it was three days ago). For hearing, he can hear up to 6 miles in forests (however being in a city would definitely make him disorientated and prone to blocking more things out), and 10 miles in open areas. His eyes can’t make him distinguish things that are further than about 100-150 feet away. Regardless, he can still see shapes and movement over long distances. His peripheral and night vision is quite acute too (the latter is actually better for him than during the day).
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? Ability to speak English with other humans.
Weapons: Powerful jaws, teeth, claws, weight (around 110 lbs).

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: In an area somewhere on what can be assumed is Earth (and has a “missing” population of humans) Gabu was born into a small wolf pack that dwelt within a rocky territory. As a pup he was playfully teased and taunted by the other pups in the pack, mainly because he was a wimp of a pup, scrawny, and had a slight reluctance for eating meat. It can be assumed that after the death of his parents Gabu began to grow into a typical wolf. He ate more and appeared to have no problem at all with killing prey. He had graduated from a sniveling pup to a grown hunter.

Until one stormy night.

Gabu had injured his paw and obtained a cold while out in a vicious storm. He managed to enter a manmade shed that had been abandoned, only to discover a voice. Unable to tell the species of the speaker, he just assumed that it was another wolf. After a friendly conversation, the two speakers quickly became friends and promised to meet again the next day. They did, and quickly realized how much of a mistake they had made. What Gabu had thought was a wolf turned out to be a goat instead!

After an awkward standoff that consisted of monosyllabic grunts and bugged eyes, the two still went forth with their picnic, despite their obvious differences. To them, what was inside was more precious than their appearances. The two managed to keep their friendship hidden from the rest of their peers until there was an occasion where the wolves, desperate to stock up before winter, attacked a goat herd. Gabu just managed to bring Mei away, but the act did not go unnoticed by both sides. Later Mei and Gabu were questioned and sentenced by the sheep and wolf groups, respectively. But instead of killing Gabu and ostracizing Mei, both sides decided to have them use each other for information, all for the good of the herd or pack.

When the two were finally allowed to meet again, Gabu and Mei decided to escape the land they lived in for a new one entirely. The wolf pack was in quick pursuit, eager to tear the traitorous wolf and goat apart.

While Gabu and Mei were climbing a snowy mountain, Mei fought off collapse from hunger and fatigue until Gabu forced him into a little cave that protected them from the elements, but not the cold. Mei grew weaker, and eventually asked Gabu, who had not eaten in days, to kill him and use his body for food. Gabu, anguished at the possible death of his beloved den, began to sob and scream and regret that he had ever been born a wolf. He asked Mei to give him some time outside to prepare for killing his friend, but slunk off instead, trying to find some grass or plants that couldn’t possibly be alive under the frigid snow.

Gabu witnessed the pack closing in at the foot of the mountain, and, after trumpeting a wolf’s howl, leapt off the mountain to confront the pack, ready to sacrifice himself to protect Mei. He managed to hold his own against the entire pack, but was swept away with the rest of them when an avalanche tore through the valley. Gabu survived the attacks and the avalanche, but the cost was most of his memory.

He eventually made his way around the mountain and came to a forest. Lost, he sat alone in a field of flowers until he saw a goat running to him. Thinking it was food, Gabu struck the goat unconscious and dragged him to a little cave, wanting to eat him when the moon had risen. Mei was awake at this time, and tried to make Gabu come to his senses. When the wolf refused to acknowledge him Mei cried and wished he had never met Gabu on that one stormy night. For Gabu, the password that was to be spoken on their first real meeting, rang like a bell for him and made him realize just who he was. And what he was about to do. Finally reunited, the pair watched the moon and decided to live as friends who would never part.

Point in Canon: After movie.
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: None; this is a new muse.
Character Personality: Gabu is what any canine is when it comes to the things he loves: loyal and stubborn. He describes himself as a guy who would never eat his friends, no matter who they were. The wolf prefers to keep his own troubles hidden, even letting himself suffer so his friends could have a better life. For example every time he got hungry around Mei he kept his mouth shut, even insisting that he wasn’t hungry though his stomach said otherwise. To him, true friends that care about you are the greatest things to live and die for. This could come from the fact that he was bullied as a pup by his other littermates, even though he still grew up to be a functional wolf in the pack.

He’s not the cleverest of wolves, and tends to act out of frantic desperation when backed into a stressful corner. Once he had nearly watched in his own paralyzing helplessness as Mei was nearly killed by a fellow wolf, only to snap into action and pull Mei away, jeopardizing their secret friendship. When things seemed to be the most bleak for the pair Gabu showed a regretful and tearful side, breaking down before the weakened Mei and showing how much he hated that he had been born a wolf when it came to their friendship. But even though he hated the species he was born with, he still courageously used his natural abilities to stake himself on a suicidal attack against his fellow wolves, nearly being killed but never backing down from protecting Mei at all costs. He still remains a friend one could definitely count on.

Soon throughout the game Gabu will come to realize that he can’t be around Mei anymore, and will either seek to form new alliances, steadily reverting back to a cunning wolf.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A.
Character Plans: He’ll start off a lone wolf picking off some chickens and maybe something like a pig. And if he doesn’t get shot by then, who knows? He’ll look for Mei and eventually realize that he can’t get out of the city, so he’ll just wander around and try to keep alive.

First Person Sample

[Gabu turned his head at the device in his large paws. It smelled odd, like the skin of animals and the oils and weird metals of man. He touched a button, and the screen flickered on with a beep.]

Woah!

[Gabu’s fur stood out on end as he dropped the collar and scooted back a few feet. His tail went stiff and pointed parallel to the ground as his ears picked up the whirrs and clicks of doodads and whatsits inside the box by the buckle. Ears pricked for any more sounds, he reached out with a paw and touched that same button again. The screen died in light, and the noise stopped.]

Neat!

Gabu’s arrival was hurried, yet stealthy. Using his nose, the wolf tracked the scent where he and Mei had bedded down for the night by some shrubs. Gabu locked on, and grinned, dropping the bundle of clovers in his mouth to again scour his muzzle with a lick, careful to get any blood that might still be clinging off of the fur. He knew how Mei, despite being comfortable with having a wolf as a friend, still had some reservations about Gabu eating others. But as long as Mei didn’t see it, he couldn’t be bothered, right?

Gabu knelt down to gather the clovers into his paws, now standing on his hind legs as he frog-marched himself to their little nesting area.

“Meeeiiiii- Yiiipe!”

The wolf jumped and yelped at an unhappy sensation, like he was being pulled through a raging river again only that he wasn’t getting wet and it felt like he was flying through darkness at an unmeasured time. The clover had long disappeared from his paws before they suddenly gripped new kinds of materials: soil and grass. Gabu’s head throbbed like hell, his eyes blurred in the vision, and his stomach churned, threatening to rebel its contents out. Whimpering, the wolf only curled up, suspecting possible dangers, but too concerned with his own aching body.
