I will mildly regret posting this in about 5 minutes, but I am still going to. I'm usually such a drama-free, passive guy who never has a problem with anyone, though, and I just figured this is something to blog about ( Read more... )

Who did you de-friend, Kelly Osbourne? :)

Oh well, that's how it goes. Life wouldn't be life without the occasional drama...

She makes Kelly Osborne look rational and complex.

I... I actually agree with her concerning the content and frequency of her journal entries. However, the reaction was delightfully intense and over-dramatic, which is lulzy. So, I'm really kind of torn about the whole situation.

Personally? I would have unfriended (Livejournal: enemy of the O.E.D.) and slipped out the back, like a pirate pirate-ninja. Of course, I would have missed out on most of the drama, then, and that would have been a pity.

OMFG! LJ IS SO LIEK SRS!!!! ESS. ARE. ESS. !!!!!

I just think that's terribly obnoxious; entries have an Edit button, I'm not asking for rocket scientry. I go out of my way not to post twice on the same day so as not to make a Friends Page glutton of myself, and then someone goes "weeee, four stupid music videos in four posts over the spam of three hours". Like I said...it's not the worst thing ever, but neither is being politely asked not to.

I didn't WANT to unfriend her, I was just hoping to return my Friends Page to normalcy. :-p Apparently that was AWFUL of me.

But the thing is, people express themselves in different ways and you were by no means forced to friend her/read her journal. Perhaps visually four different posts is more appealing to her than one post. Or perhaps she was feeling different between posts. Regardless, it is her journal and asking her to modify it to your personal preferences was, to my mind, somewhat inappropriate. Ultimately, it is her journal and she gets to journal the way she likes.

In her situation, I would have been annoyed with you as well. However, I also would have acted my age and not like a 5 year-old high on pixi stix and mummy's list of favourite curses.

That's just not my drama button, I guess. :b

Yes, people CAN choose to be obnoxious in their own journal, but...why would you? And why is that a valid option?

And it's not like I was demanding anything. I explained my position on why I thought it was improper and asked her to consider it. I just politely requested. :)

I'm doing all right.. can't complain.

That's a good point there, the one about sometimes needing to be annoyed. I think a little drama or indignation can sometimes spice up the doldrums of real life, don't you?

Maybe that's why cats freak out when they play with string... They're domesticated now... but those defensive instincts still need to stay sharp- and we all know the best way to sharpen or strengthen something is to apply resistance....

I use ... three period pauses.... way... too much.

hah. this chick obviously is starved for attention. one of those people who make a jillion posts a day just to get some kind of validation because they can't get it in their real life. what you suggested wasn't bad at all, she just wanted someone to argue with i guess. pshaww.
