Ok, so, I’m an NRA member, I will say that up front. (Yes, I owned a gun at 12, it was a 22, not a shotgun, and I only ever shot it at the target.)
The thing I want to know is, what made the kid think this was the only way out? Was he abused, did he feel like he was being abused even if he wasn’t? Why wasn’t the gun locked?
Yes, guns kill people, but generally not without their being a people pulling the trigger. So I want to know all the contributing factors.
Wow, how sad. And yeah, I don't really have a problem with guns for adults, BUT dear god, of course kids shouldn't have guns. Wow.
I like Flight of the Conchords but I could see how you wouldn't. I haaaate it when someone shows me something that I find to be totally boring but I just have to laugh like I like it.
Dude that's disturbing. The story about that kid, I mean. I always hate when they say, well he was just a kid, he doesn't understand, he didn't realize that dead means actually dead, etc. I'll just never understand how a kid can do that. And you're totally right, there was no reason for a child to have access to something that could kill someone, as that shotgun obviously was capable of.
