London Irish Vs London Wasps

Went to see the rugby today, a local derby between two london sides, so obviously it was played in Reading, outside of the M25 and resolutely outside of London. But what's in a name? Yeah, went with some of my cousins from Australia, tough Aussie girls, my biker uncle and my old man. a fine time was had by all.

Is that "Wasps" team a reference to White Anglo Saxon Protestants? And did they deliberately schedule a match against the Irish right before St. Patrick's day, or ?
