I've talked about this to my co-worker quite a bit. Remember that the MAJORITY of Americans agree with you, but the majority of Americans also feel alone, helpless, and apathetic. If you want to make people wake up, we have to stick together and do something. We've been talking about a documentary of some sort. Though that probably wouldn't work, waking up a few people is better than none.

I don't know how the young generation of people got so apathetic/blind, I'm disappointed that hippies raised such apathetic little shits. I don't know how they managed but there has to be someway to change the world. I haven't given up yet.

Also, I suggest you read this: http://anniesj.livejournal.com/331112.html and proceed with caution. Remember everything you post here is probably being read by someone else.

I'm a lot less optimistic than Nessa. I'm convinced that we're going down this terrifying road because the majority of Americans are short sighted, selfish, egocentric fools. They choose to believe lies because that's easier than facing the truth, and much easier than thinking critically and figuring out what the truth is. We're seeing the beginning of Orwell's 1984-world. As a nation, we're giving up freedoms in exchange for "security" left and right. Doublethink (no, I'm not joking--some of the things I hear people saying these days definitely qualify as doublethink) and government surveillance are becoming more and more pervasive. The distribution of wealth is becoming more and more polarized.

Unless we can make some serious changes soon--both socially and politically--we're completely proper-fucked.
