There's an eight-mile track in Kensington Metro Park that meanders around a pretty collection of lakes and trees and gigantic swans. Usually my friend Dave and I will ride our bikes there. I woke up yesterday morning determined to run the whole damn thing. And so I did.

you must be insane. that's 5 miles more than we ran in the last 5k, and we thought that was difficult.

you were just procrastinating, weren't you? j/k

Maybe I was procrastinating ... but I did it again today! Although, this time I ended up walking maybe a mile or mile and a half between burts of energy. It was super cold and I was tired. NEXT WEEK: You'll do it too!!!

After all that burning shit off by walking, you and I should put it back on by drinking in the D! I haven't seen you in forever. I'll buy you a drink or two. :) Should be there around May 20.

I'd love to. But it'll have to wait a good three months from May 20. I head out for Miami tonight.

Didn't you know?

I think I knew for sure in something ridiculous like October or something. Dallas asked me join the state desk just a few weeks after I sent my application. And the WSJ and Boston Globe said I was a finalist. But the whole time I really wanted to go to Miami, so I told everyone else no when they said yes.

Thanks, though. I'm excited and nervous. I begin Monday.
