One of the very first pokemon Atem actually caught on his very own. Their bond became strong from the beginning; Pidgey often liking to stay outside of her pokeball and ride on Atem's shoulder or perch on his arm. The duo have been pretty inseparable since the early days. Now sometimes she even likes to surprise Atem with random rides on her back from time to time.

It was Atem's surprise that he found the Old Amber while training his pokemon at the Ruins. Once this pokemon was revived, it immediately started wreaking havoc on the scientists who had helped Atem bring it back. It was with a very long and hard fight that the trainer was finally able to bring it down and capture it.

This Skarmory went into battle with Atem when he was trekking through the mountain in order to try and catch a glimpse of one of the legendary pokemon said to lie within. During battle the bird got so haughty and upset that one of its gusts actually kicked up enough wind to blow Atem backwards. Unfortunately it was back into a lava pit. With quick action and thinking the bird threw off the rest of the battle, diving into the pit to save him with only moments to spare. He's stayed with Atem ever since, trying to make up for his accidental misdeed.
