Just outside of Domino about two months ago a bully corporation had tried to work its way into Kaiba's territory. They specialized in gaming technology, and they never took no for an answer. There was rumor spreading around that they'd stolen Kaiba's technology for his VR Pods. Rumor you couldn't ignore.

...Atem? What was he doing in the game? Shouldn't he be outside the pod? Or maybe...

Yugi's thoughts were interrupted with another jerk forward, and now he was leaning over his other self.

Please...? "W-What's wrong, mou hitori no boku?" He tensed up, partly out of awkwardness and partly because of the game's unpredictable controls. Nothing seemed to happen, or so Yugi thought... A faint blush covered his cheeks as he realized how close they were... Maybe a little too close.

The game paused for just a moment before seeming to brim full of life again. Atem's own avatar flickered for a moment before it was given a more determined look. Though his clothing was still ripped and they were still in the same position as before.

A few words flashed directly in front of Yugi's eyes, unseen by the Atem in the game.

Welcome to your first game- Mutou Yugi. The avatar is now picking up your thoughts and memories. Do not resist. Just let the game bleed into your subconscious.

"Nothing." Atem finally spoke up, though softly. "Are you alright?"

of course you are. NOW HOW DO I PLAY THIS GAME? GIMME SOME CHEAT CODES OR SOMETHIN'

Atem couldn't see the words, but he could probably see Yugi's surprised expression upon reading them. Then he blinked and looked back at Atem as he replied.

"I... I'm fine." Well, maybe not, but he didn't want Atem to worry, even if this one was just a program. Yugi gulped as he drew himself back, slowly getting up and helping Atem to his feet as well. "Uh... What're you doing here?" Hey, he had to ask.

CHEATING?! THAT'S SO DISHONORABLE!

"Doing?" The question seemed to confuse the avatar, the room around the fuzzing for a second before straightening itself out. Atem ran his hands down over the ripped cloth of his tunic, frowning lightly.

"I was trying to retire for the night." The answer sounded a little lackluster, but his eyes meet with Yugi's again.

Do not let your fantasy control you, you control it. Would you like a more submissive or a more dominant personality in this game?

The letters 'D' and 'S' appeared just off to the side, awaiting Yugi's touch.

Kaiba was absolutely sure this was a trap. It had all the hallmarks; a competitor, supposed theft of his technology, a ridiculously easy trip in, and only one pod available for use. Of course he was going to be the one who went in. Atem, as strong as his rival was, wasn't equipped to handle a computer program like this. Not to mention, Kaiba was sure he was the target to begin with. There was no better way to find out the plan behind the trap than to spring it. In he went.

The setting almost shocked him. Nobody was supposed to know about this Egyptian nonsense. That immediately limited the perpetrators to either Pegasus or Ishizu, both improbable. Neither had seemed to hold much interest in his VR program before. Pegasus had only ever wanted something that would bring the unreal into the real world, not the other way around. The forced movement of his avatar threw him off further. He certainly hadn't put that part of the program in

The background fuzzed a little as Atem looked up at the other. For a second his expression went completely blank and dead. In the next it changed to something more akin to what he'd wear. Nothing innocent and hurt in that expression, just confused.

The game is currently accessing your memories. Welcome to your first game Kaiba Seto. All of this words in front of Kaiba's eyes but otherwise invisible to Atem.

"What's the matter?" He still remained on the floor, watching Kaiba carefully.

THE RP WORLD WILL IMPLODE.

Kaiba's eyes narrowed at the refusal, and he was left snarling at the glitch in the graphics. How dare anyone corrupt his programs like this? How dare anyone claim to read into his memories?!

He continued to ignore the Atem avatar, looking around for a visual source of the glitch while he called out a more involved administrator code.

"Override codes! Password par0011011100110111fait!"

Atem finally stood from the floor though as he approached the height of his stance the game glitched, froze, and then continued on like nothing had happened. He looked down at the tear in his tunic and then back up to Kaiba.

"What are you talking about?"

Invalid authorization. ... Would you like a dominant or submissive personality for this round?

The letters 'D' and 'S' appeared just off to the left.

The snapping in the back of his mind catches him off guard, and he tried to scream with no results. That made him panic more, ebbing slowly once the world came into focus once again... to a background that didn't make him feel completely at ease. His memories of Egypt were mixed, both good and bad.. and complicated.

No time to think. He moved... or rather, his body did, and that panic returned. It was like something was possessing him, and since it wasn't Atem, he didn't want it around at all! He tried to fight against it, work together what he could control, and just..

...lean over said Pharaoh. Yuugi's eyes widened as the clarity returned, and he felt in control once more. Never mind that the changes in surroundings as well as the situation itself was... confusing and overwhelming.

"..m-mou hitori no boku.." he blushed, stammered and pushed himself back up so he was standing. "A-Are you alright? What's going on?" He reached a hand down to him, allowing Atem assistance in standing as well.

Once he was on his feet, one hand moved to brush against the ripped tunic with a delicately and obviously upset touch. A frown moved over his lips before his eyes rose back to Yuugi's with a light smile.

"I'm fine." The other question seemed unanswered, almost as if he hadn't even heard it. The real world Atem certainly would have never left something asked by his partner go unheeded.

Words seemed to appear right before Yuugi's eyes, Atem none the wiser.

Yuugi's eyes lowered to the rip as well, eyebrows furrowed together in the center of his forehead sightly, which quickly became a widened look of surprise once the words flashed in front of him. Woah.

"A... game?" He asked, unintentionally aloud, mostly to himself. Right. He was in the pod, no matter how realistic this was.

"...what happened to your clothes?" A different approach to the unanswered inquiry. Plus, it seemed like an immediate concern to Atem at the moment.

His eyes watched Yuugi very intently. Though his expression seemed to falter as that question was asked. It was almost like he didn't want to answer it. Why didn't the other know what had happened? What kind of nonsense was that?

"You pushed me." That was the way it always seemed to start up, not that he could really remember.

The words came back, followed by the letters D and S ready to be pressed by Yuugi just off to the left. Again Atem seemed unaware.
