In this world there are two types of creatures- humans and vampires. One or the other and each had their own place. The humans didn't like the vampires. They saw them as dangerous, sinful, evil creatures. The vampires were at least tolerant of the human's stupidity from time to time. But there were people who dabbled in the middle. A very dangerous

Yugi may not have been as much of a powerful and well-known vampire as Atem, but that was just how he was. No one tends to notice you when you're... well... short, weak, good-natured, timid. At least he didn't have any enemies, right? He could even blend in with humans at times, as long as they didn't think he was a certain somebody instead.
The other's greeting came as a surprise. Yugi wasn't expecting to see the other during his stroll around town tonight... or at all. He and Atem weren't complete strangers though. Sort of. Their eyes met only a few times before, but they never really had the chance to actually talk.
"Oh... h-hello." Of course he'd give the other a friendly smile, doing his best not to come off as too nervous. But with how awkward he was, he didn't remember to bow or show his respect. aw shit

His smirk widened, still leaning back against the building. "How are you this evening, Yugi?" Formality was a must. He always had to assert the fact that he was knowledgeable in just about everything.

"I'm fine," Ah, better be formal back! "...Atem." Nice save, he'll never know that he almost forgot, especially not with that little smile looking a bit more sheepish. "How about you?"
Reply
"I'm doing well." There was no real call here to say it was a lie. Even if it was there was not much that could be done about it, not much that he would allow to be done about it. "I thought I'd just check in on our younger members this evening."

Ultimately, it sent the man the human world knew as reclusive technological genius Kaiba Seto out into the night. Alone. His spotless white business suit was a lure for the human thugs. His power, partially unshielded and exposed to the senses of all the creatures lurking that night, was the lure for the inhuman. It would have been quite the failure indeed if he hadn't run into Atem. Kaiba Seto never failed.
But with his quarry finally in front of him, he couldn't help but be less than impressed. "You're shorter than they said you were," he commented dryly, his eyes tracing the lines of the vampire's form.

Oh well.
"And you're more boring than they said you were." Not that he'd never seen Kaiba before. He had eyes and ears everywhere. But keeping up your own shadows was important.

Kaiba kept his surprise off his face, only raising an eyebrow slightly at the response. It made him over aware of his illusionary body, as usual. Dragons didn't have much expression naturally.
"At least you've heard of me," he replied coolly. "As I have heard far too much about you. Do you intend to attract every vampire in Japan here?"

Still, the smirk stayed on his lips. He couldn't really help it. "I'm sorry that you look after a pack of frightened whiners." Dry sarcasm with a hint of very real amusement. It was quite hilarious. "But I'm not responsible for the vampires who show up here." Only when they did, of course. It wasn't his fault however that they chose to follow.

But the other was so beautiful Yuugi had immediately wanted to paint him, draw him, anything! His paintings had been selling pretty well since the day they first chatted and he had finished the portrait.
The life of a starving artist was a rough one, but he never regretted it, he saw beauty in everything. Even in such a lustful creature as Atem.
"Evening." he greeted.

He smiled a charming sort of smile, continuing to lean lightly. "What are your plans for this evening?"
Reply
"You know, the usual." It really all just boiled down to those things. Yuugi walked to find inspiration in things so he could create more art to sell.

A murmur of thought passed his lips as he still watched the other carefully. "Any particular subjects in mind?"
