[Open] SOMEONE WAS BORED I THINK AND IT WASN'T ME

This had been hailed in the media as one of the biggest tournaments in the King of Games' career. Unfortunately you'd been unable to attend as a duelist, and even unable to accompany him as his significant other. You had been busy but he'd understood. A shame, he'd said, as he had been working on a really good strategy for the last few months. You ( Read more... )

"Pharaoh," The Doctor called, waving his arm high above his head to get Atem's attention. While he didn't understand dueling himself per se, he understood the younger man's need to do it. And he always looked amazing and poised when he did.

With a roll and a squirm that only a timelord could make, Eight was beside the ancient king and had taken his hand before anyone around them knew what was happening, and fallen into stride.

"I must say you've gotten quite good at that."

Not many people called him that anymore, or really anyone. So the moment it was uttered he knew that it wasn't a chance happenstance or a crazy fan screaming crazy words, he instantly tried to look around the crowd to spot the one man that word could have belonged to. It didn't seem to matter that he wasn't tall enough to see over the crowd however as his hand was taken.

"I didn't know you were coming." He said, slightly puzzled. How dare the Doctor just come unannounced. That sounded too much like him to be fair.

"I like to surprise people. And I was in the neighbourhood," The doctor laughed inwardly, his voice jovial and light - just like always with his friend. The hand squeezed around Atem's comfortingly, seemingly unphased by the rest of the crowd.

"So where are we going?" Eight asked, looking around at all the people surrounding Atem.

"Home or home? You know the old girl misses you."

"In the neighborhood." He mocked with a smirk and a light roll of his eyes. That didn't mean much when one had a ship that could travel through time and space. The swath of people around them was becoming unbearable at this point. People were reaching out to tug at his jacket and just pull at him in general.

"I don't care where we go but I need to get away from all this." It wasn't that he didn't like his fans, when they were controlled. But after that duel he needed a moment to process and not be surrounded by grabby fingers and screaming voices.

THAT DUEL WAS TOO FAST, IT DIDN'T LAST AT LEAST 3 EPISODES! minigoff May 17 2011, 03:57:15 UTC
No wonder Atem was the King of Games, with how fast he could pull off those combos, and definitely without cheating at all. Never.

It was hard for Yugi to believe the duel was over that fast, though he was quick to rush over to the other to try to catch his attention. Luckily, he was small enough to squeeze through most of the fans and paparazzi. Hooray for being tiny! ...For once.

Maybe now he could call out to his other self. He was sure Atem would be happy that he could make it after all, even if Yugi didn't tell him beforehand.

"Atem!" Whoops, someone shoved him out of the way. How rude! But maybe Atem heard him? He'd just have to try getting through again...

I THINK THAT'S WHAT MADE IT GOOD note_atem May 17 2011, 04:07:33 UTC
The voice was quick to travel to his ear, even above the shrieking of fans. It wasn't one of them calling him, of that he was sure. His head turned every which way to try and locate-

"Aibou?" Was he hearing things? Sure he'd missed his partner and wanted him by his side dearly but the other had said he wasn't going to be there. In his momentary stop the crowd drew in thicker.

*I* THINK YOU CHEATED minigoff May 17 2011, 04:14:29 UTC
Atem heard him! Yesssss.

Yugi managed to squeeze through once again, surprisingly not getting shoved too much this time. "Mou hitori no boku!" He stumbled trying to get closer, but he made it close enough where Atem could see him.

NO WAY note_atem May 17 2011, 04:17:23 UTC
Alright, that was definitely Yugi, not just his waning sanity. He turned around in the direction of the voice, spotting his little partner having a tough time with the crowd. Those bastards.

He stepped forward to assert his manly-man authority and make them step back. "Move." He wasn't making a request to the fans as he reached his hand out to the other.

Kaiba's idea of moves involved calling in an old favor owed....and swallowing a little distaste. Up in the VIP boxes, he was practically pressed against the glass. It was a fact not lost on the owner of said box, who was slowly coming up behind him ( ... )

Anything involving Pegasus was bad news. As such, when he'd been told to go somewhere by Pegasus' right hand man he'd been extremely anxious. This couldn't have been good, and had he had the choice he would have outright denied it. But they were providing security control and he couldn't make it through the thrush of the crowd that had gathered.

It left him slightly unsure, tense, disliking this situation entirely. Once they stopped at one of the rooms within the stadium he turned to the other. He'd only gotten an instruction to go in there before he left. He could have tried leaving now, but he was nothing if not true to his word. He said he'd go.

So reaching towards the doorknob he stepped inside, the darkness surprising him, unnerving him even more. "What games are you playing now?" His voice was rough as his eyes tried to adjust and search as quickly as they could.

The box was quiet as soon as the door closed behind the departing Croquet. Perfect for Kaiba's purposes.

"The same game you started when you summoned the first God in one turn," he proclaimed boldly, turning toward Atem with a sweep of his coat. "Something Pegasus wouldn't understand, with the cowardly way he duels. Something your opponent didn't understand either. You wasted it on him."

The anxiousness was immediately replaced with a slightly more positive feeling upon realizing who was actually in this room. He nearly, very nearly exclaimed the brunet's name in shock. He hadn't been expecting him at all. He'd said he was busy and that meant days upon days in the office. And to involve Pegasus and his men?

The befuddled look on his face was a little too slow for his tastes to be removed but he smirked once he got over the initial surprise.

"I play the way my deck wants to play. It was unfortunate, I will agree, that you were not standing on the opposite side of the field for this one."

It was just like him to get stomped on in the crowds, so small and barely noticeable (even with all that hair!) he hated feeling insignificant. Finally he shouted over the crowds, hoping to get his attention.

"Atem!" Did he not hear him? Probably just thought he was another voice in the crowd. He tried again. "ATEM!" Ack! He tried shoving his way around the others in front of him, if this didn't work nothing would.

"Mou Hitori no Boku!" he cried. If this didn't work he'd have to chase him!
