This had been hailed in the media as one of the biggest tournaments in the King of Games' career. Unfortunately you'd been unable to attend as a duelist, and even unable to accompany him as his significant other. You had been busy but he'd understood. A shame, he'd said, as he had been working on a really good strategy for the last few months. You

With a roll and a squirm that only a timelord could make, Eight was beside the ancient king and had taken his hand before anyone around them knew what was happening, and fallen into stride.
"I must say you've gotten quite good at that."

"I didn't know you were coming." He said, slightly puzzled. How dare the Doctor just come unannounced. That sounded too much like him to be fair.

"So where are we going?" Eight asked, looking around at all the people surrounding Atem.
"Home or home? You know the old girl misses you."

"I don't care where we go but I need to get away from all this." It wasn't that he didn't like his fans, when they were controlled. But after that duel he needed a moment to process and not be surrounded by grabby fingers and screaming voices.

It was hard for Yugi to believe the duel was over that fast, though he was quick to rush over to the other to try to catch his attention. Luckily, he was small enough to squeeze through most of the fans and paparazzi. Hooray for being tiny! ...For once.
Maybe now he could call out to his other self. He was sure Atem would be happy that he could make it after all, even if Yugi didn't tell him beforehand.
"Atem!" Whoops, someone shoved him out of the way. How rude! But maybe Atem heard him? He'd just have to try getting through again...

"Aibou?" Was he hearing things? Sure he'd missed his partner and wanted him by his side dearly but the other had said he wasn't going to be there. In his momentary stop the crowd drew in thicker.

Yugi managed to squeeze through once again, surprisingly not getting shoved too much this time. "Mou hitori no boku!" He stumbled trying to get closer, but he made it close enough where Atem could see him.

He stepped forward to assert his manly-man authority and make them step back. "Move." He wasn't making a request to the fans as he reached his hand out to the other.

It left him slightly unsure, tense, disliking this situation entirely. Once they stopped at one of the rooms within the stadium he turned to the other. He'd only gotten an instruction to go in there before he left. He could have tried leaving now, but he was nothing if not true to his word. He said he'd go.
So reaching towards the doorknob he stepped inside, the darkness surprising him, unnerving him even more. "What games are you playing now?" His voice was rough as his eyes tried to adjust and search as quickly as they could.

"The same game you started when you summoned the first God in one turn," he proclaimed boldly, turning toward Atem with a sweep of his coat. "Something Pegasus wouldn't understand, with the cowardly way he duels. Something your opponent didn't understand either. You wasted it on him."

The befuddled look on his face was a little too slow for his tastes to be removed but he smirked once he got over the initial surprise.
"I play the way my deck wants to play. It was unfortunate, I will agree, that you were not standing on the opposite side of the field for this one."

"Atem!" Did he not hear him? Probably just thought he was another voice in the crowd. He tried again. "ATEM!" Ack! He tried shoving his way around the others in front of him, if this didn't work nothing would.
"Mou Hitori no Boku!" he cried. If this didn't work he'd have to chase him!
