He was yours. He was always meant to be yours. Somewhere in you you've always known that. You've said it. You've said it to him. The relationship was never as pretty as ones seen in the movies but you both never had problems before. And then something inside you seemed to just snap.
The dark need for more. )

It had been six bleak months since Mokuba's kidnap and death. Six months since Kaiba had killed the group responsible, then left his partner and lover locked in the basement lab he had been researching in. It was steel and buried underground, surrounded by security and cameras. No one could possibly get in to steal the other away. It was the only way Kaiba would dare leave him alone ( ... )

It was going to be a tough time, he knew. Ever since he'd heard of the news of Mokuba's death he knew then that they would need a lot of time and a lot of repair to fix any sort of damage. And even then, Atem knew it would never be enough. Kaiba would never be the same, but that didn't mean he'd give up ( ... )

Kaiba's head picked up when he heard his first name. How long had it been?

"Atem," he said, his voice still dull and lifeless. "I...there was a Burger World on the way back. I thought you would appreciate it," he said as the bag was lifted as an offering. Vaguely he could hear the door shut by Isono behind him.

His hands braced the wall behind him to ease his way to standing. He still wasn't convinced that this Seto was real. He often saw fading visions of his friends at particularly low points. Kaiba was a common one, especially when he missed affection or comfort the most, even if the brunet wasn't that great at offering it.

"...how long are you staying?"

Two months. Two months since Yuugi decided to keep Atem locked away ( ... )

The move had surprised and unnerved him. It was a shame he didn't have the physical strength to break the door down. This wasn't like his puzzle. There must have been a way out. Even talking to the other didn't seem to be helping.

It was still a prison. He was still being locked up. For the life of him he couldn't understand why that was. Had he crossed Yuugi? Had he done something wrong? Had he still been a spirit, would Yuugi have locked him in the puzzle instead?

On this particular day he was having another moment of panic. Another moment of weakness that he couldn't cover for. He slid down against the door, the only exit, the only place he could go to anymore. He knew Yuugi was there.

His voice was weak and wracked with pain as he spoke. "Aibou, please..."

Yuugi heard the voice and resisted to open the door for the other, as he had done so many times. He knew his other was safer in there then any place else, and this way he couldn't be taken from him.

Yuugi curled his knees tighter to his chest.

"Mou Hitori no Boku..." Couldn't the other understand that this was for his own good? Did he /want/ to be seperated? But he was listening, it was likely he just wouldn't heed the others words.

It was unfortunate that Atem didn't understand much of anything about why he was being locked up. The only thing left to him was his guilt complex that told him he must have done something wrong to get this sort of treatment. The fact that it was coming from Yuugi drove it further into his head that he really must have messed up.

"Please... tell me what I've done so that I can try and fix it." It was his only chance. If he at least knew what it was then maybe, just maybe, he could try to start patching things up.
