Prophecy, fate, destiny- words of these caliber always seemed to be thrown around when Atem was involved. You'd gotten so used to hearing them now that he'd spent ten years entwined personally in your life. They just didn't seem important anymore. He'd stayed, he'd grown attached to you; whether that was destiny or not didn't matter anymore. This

After a hour, he was about to give up. It was becoming hopeless in this dark, oppressive place where he couldn't even see his own hand in front of his face. Being almost blind nearly made him trip over something, a warm, huddled mass that he finally stopped and touched what was in front of him.
"S-sorry," he apologized, not knowing if he had tripped over a person or if he was talking to himself in the darkness. "Didn't see you down there...-" the texture of the hair, the way it was formed... and how soft it was... it... It couldn't be...
"A-atem-san? I-is that you?"

It seemed like it took a while for his eyes to even focus on Ryou's figure as he stared up. "What is your purpose?" His words were slow, unsure, and thick on his tongue as he tried speaking them.

Now that he thought about it, the pains were all but gone now. Almost like a distant memory.
"Are you all right, Atem-san? ...You were in so much pain, last I saw you..."

The recall of events was even less pleasing to listen to. His hands went to his head as he ducked down into himself even more. "What do you want?" His voice had gone weaker. "What sort of test is this now?" He had only just escaped his chains, it must have been more punishment.

Yuugi paused when he relized he was facing himself, the 'who's next' barely even registered. His eyes wide.
So this was him durring that time, all the times he had blanks in his memory, the heavy feelings of rage...and madness.
"...!" Yuugi turned and bolted, not knowing what else to do!

It had seemed as if he was staring at other self. That was quite impossible. Yet somehow he knew he couldn't have been hallucinating it. He was still sure that he was residing in his other self's body, though, so the appearance of another one could only mean one thing.
"Impostor." His growl was loud as he took off after the kid.

He didn't even think to try to argue with this mad other of his. Just contenued to run as fast as his legs could possibly carry him, terrified.
"Not again not again not again!!"

So he had to catch this punk. Luckily, somehow, he knew these dark alleyways as if they were his second home. He knew which ones to twist and turn out of to end up right in front of the kid. And once he did his hand shot out to grab the front of his shirt.
The sennen mark was burning brightly on his forehead as he glared at him. "Explain yourself. Now." It might have been worth something to get a little information before they played a game.

She has had missions like this before, in a long ago time when this world had not been her home. It was the last thought she has before Cissnei opens her eyes to find him staring back at her, her surprised expression caught in the mirror over his shoulder as well. This... This is familiar.
"I need just another minute." Cissnei tells him, not quite knowing what was going on, not really caring until she can at least move to brush past him, stopping next to the man to raise a hand to touch him.
It's really him, when not but a few minutes ago Atem had been...

He turned, gazing at her for a moment. "Is something wrong?"

Cissnei had lived it before.
"Just let me stay close, alright? I have a few concerns about the security." She tells him once Cissnei finds her voice again, tilting her head to give the other a small bit of a smile, though hazel eyes seemed distant. "But have fun, tonight is, after all, about you."
When she pulls away, it was to her suitcase, down to the bottom where the lockbox that held her materia stayed.

Sometimes fans got out of hand, sometimes people with darker intentions tried to get their way, but it had never been so much of an issue that caused her to react like that. ...or was he imagining things?
He managed a soft smirk for the sake of appearance in the face of all this. "When have I ever really kept you far?"

The flowers were shifted lightly as the piece of paper was slipped into his pocket. "But she wouldn't take no for an answer."

"She?" he had to ask. Some woman had bought the flowers?

"But I'm sure she'll want to give them to you so let's go." Every time he talked about this mysterious 'she' his tone grew warmer. After saying so he started walking.
