You've known him for a long time now. He's never aged a day. There's a few reasons for that, reasons that drew you in in the first place. Or was it he that was drawn in? Either way, the closer you got, the less you were able to deny him. Tonight proved to be rather difficult. Halloween, and for some reason those scarlet eyes of his glowed brightly ( Read more... )

Hello, Vampire Atem. It has been a long time. :] whitewizardgirl November 1 2011, 03:30:57 UTC
It was something she struggled with daily, wanting to be human and live out her life, or...

Be young forever and be with him just as long...

But... so many things she could do as a human that she couldn't as a vampire. She wondered what color her hair would change to with age since her hair was already naturally white.

And, she thought with a light blush on her face, him no doubt hearing the quickening of her heart... what about a family? Vampires certainly couldn't start families... not like humans could.

"...Would you still love me, no matter which one I chose?"

Atem watched her carefully, moving to lounge on the nearest piece of furniture rather comfortably. His eyes never left hers, and he seemed not to be bothered by her sudden panic. He didn't seem to understand it, either.

"Yes." He said quietly before speaking again. "But there won't be much to love once you die." A rather blunt statement but true nonetheless.

"You speak as though as I was going to die tomorrow." Not likely, but it could still happen, and then where would they be?

"Human life... isn't all that short. I... I still have a few good years left on me, right?" That and she didn't want to be like those girls that would jump at the chance to be a vampire.

She wanted to put some thought into her decision, and not just be turned just to be pretty for her vampire forever. She had a bit more sense than that.

"For all it matters to me, your death date feels like tomorrow." He'd lived three thousand years. Human life expectancy was a blink of his eyes. It was why he'd tried to keep away from them. But he couldn't do without them forever. And some would always draw him in more than others.

And they'd leave him eventually, too. He never learned his lesson.

Kaiba had long gotten used to that stare. It had been going on for some time, growing especially common after he insisted the first time that he could never leave his brother. Mokuba was growing...or grown up now, and Atem knew it. Honestly, Kaiba had been fully expecting this question to come again.

"Desperate, aren't you?" Kaiba remarked, keeping his tone dry. "If I do it, you will miss the blood, I'm sure."

"I will miss you far more than I would miss the blood." He said calmly, keeping his eyes on the other. He was sure he would be denied fully. But that didn't mean he would stop trying. He had to get Kaiba to agree somehow. He couldn't imagine living forever without the other man. He'd gotten too damnably close.

"...I can always switch to donor blood instead of another live human." Sometimes he had to wonder who the real territorial animal was with how the other reacted about him having to drink from other people. Then again... his dominant anger was rather endearing.

"Tch," Kaiba snorted, unable to do much else for the moment. Atem planned these confrontations well. Some draining of blood and sex, and it was hard for Kaiba to find motivation to do anything but lie there.

"Don't treat me like I'm stupid. You aren't the type to be satisfied with blood that isn't fresh. Isn't that why you went after me in the first place?"

He moved to one of the large windows on the far left. Kaiba Corporation was beautiful at night- the city he could look down on even more so. He wondered why Kaiba didn't want to be king of it forever.

"I went after you because you're you. Don't play stupid." He continued looking down on Domino as he spoke, a hand raising against the cool of the glass.

He was wondering when this would come up again.

It took some getting used to after Yugi first found out about this, though he didn't judge his partner too much. Atem couldn't help it, after all. But this put him in a very awkward position.

There was so much to think about. What about his family? And his friends? He couln't watch them all die, but he didn't know if he could turn them all either. But he loved Atem too, and being a vampire wouldn't be too bad. Decisions, decisions...

"I... I don't know, Atem." He gazed into the other's eyes sorrowfully. "You know how hard it is for me to choose."

Atem moved away from the window sill that he'd entered with dignified grace, taking one step and then another before he came to sit on his partner's bed. His hands folded in his lap as his head bowed. He didn't want to look at Yugi when the other was looking back at him in such a way.

"I know." He murmured. "You can tell me no and I'll leave it be, you know." He really would. It would kill him to hear that answer, but he would take it. It wasn't like he was trying to force this on the other.

The other's distant behavior wasn't making this any easier.

"I don't know what I'd do about my family and friends." He said, looking away before continuing. "But I don't want you to deal with... you know." That one thing that mortals do. Being selfless is so hard.

He looked up then, a little curious. He was almost sure he knew what Yugi was getting at, but if it played into his hand well enough, it was better to ask than assume.

"What do you mean 'do'?"

Seth stood in the doorway of his newest apartment, both shocked to see Atem so soon after settling in, as well as seeing Atem like this. He barely understood what was being offered there before him; sure he'd heard stories about the cold ones that roamed the deserts back in his home Egypt, but here in the city it was something else.

"A--Atem?" Seth asked, not even noticing the glass of water slipping from his own fingers to break on the floor.

If he'd been interested in the glass he might have at least made an attempt to save it from shattering. As it was, those glowing eyes were stuck on Seth's form. His hand remained close to his own face as he smiled, fangs gleaming in the light of the apartment.

"Seth."

Seth took in a breath and reminded himself of where he was. He knelt quickly, both to pay homage to his former leader as well as to make short work of the glass now in several massive pieces on the floor.

With unusually shaking hands, Seth reached for the first piece; while the action might have seemed unconscious, it was possibly more deliberate than either thought as his hand quickly bloodied from where he'd sliced it on the protruding piece.

"Apologies...I never meant to be this clumsy," He began, swallowing roughly. "Please, won't you come in? We can talk more about this...offer?"
