[Open] [Something simple; a winter date]

Anyone observant will easily tell you that Atem does not like the cold. He shies away from snow. He detests the winter. It really makes his life tough because it's hard to avoid snowfall and the harsh cold winters when you live in a place that has equal seasons. There's really nowhere else he'd rather be, and moving away from Domino? Just to avoid ( Read more... )

The snow wasn't exactly the most idea environment for them to walk through. It was private, though, as much as any place could be in the middle of the city. Given he would be stuck in Kaiba Corporation for most of the next month, going outside was probably the best option.

He walked straight, eyes forward and stride modified to stay slightly in front of Atem's. His heavy coat barely shifted as he walked through the snow.

"I'll assume you were expecting this discussion, or something like it," he started, just interested in being blunt and to the point. "This might be the last significant stretch of time that I will have for you until after the new year starts."

"I don't really know what I was expecting when I agreed to come out here." It hadn't been the best decision he'd ever made. He really didn't want to, truth be told. But spending time with Kaiba was valuable, always. And he would be a giant liar if he said he didn't know this wasn't coming.

A sigh escaped him, breath catching in the air in front of him as his hands slipped into his pockets. "But yes. I am aware." Very aware. Sadly aware, even.

Talking about this at all was pointless. He had work to do. Nobody was going to be able to pull him away from it. Atem really shouldn't have gotten a warning at all. But for whatever reason (perhaps the cold and how the idiot couldn't seem to deal with it when he wasn't supervising)...Kaiba felt reluctant to just disappear on his rival. The sigh just made it worse.

"There's nothing I can do about it," Kaiba said, his tone growing low and somewhat uncertain. This was edging into emotional territory here, something he still had far too little experience in.

"But...if there is something you need done now...I have some time."

He looked up, watching the other as he spoke. He couldn't quite help the smile that appeared on his lips, even as he hid more into his coat to ward off the cold.

"I don't really need anything done." He didn't have a real excuse to keep Kaiba by his side. And really if the other wanted to be at work, he would have been. So the two of them didn't really need to pretend to have reasons for this other than what it really was.

Still, he knew he should have said something. "But if this is the last before all I can do is watch you and bring you food and coffee every now and again I really wouldn't mind just spending time together." Doing what he'd have no idea- especially not out in the snow.

Or perhaps even some winter walking with friends? :3 notsoliving December 2 2011, 19:23:54 UTC
She's not very easily affected by the cold as most others would be, she finds. Maybe it's an issue of reverse effects- if enough people are miserable in the snow, she gets to make them feel better by simply walking by right? Win win situation!

Today though, she didn't want to wander around aimlessly in the snow. And instead, walking along, you might notice that she's slowly angling the direction toward a small cafe.

Anzu turns, smiling. "Hey- you want some hot chocolate?"

This is acceptable though he still just hates winter note_atem December 2 2011, 19:31:41 UTC
He would probably be eternally grateful that she didn't want to just traipse around outside in this weather. He would never really be able to express his entire dislike of it. No amount of words would even come close to how he felt.

His head turned up when she spoke, something besides dislike lighting up in his eyes. "I wouldn't mind."

Yea, summer's better... (If only Domino was in Okinawa eh?) notsoliving December 2 2011, 19:39:50 UTC
Hahaha... She thought that would happen. Still smiling (and eternally glad she chose this option over suggesting skating or something similar), she nods over to the cafe they're coming to. "Well, I've tried this place once or twice... I think there's a fireplace you can sit by as well," she adds somewhat idly.

Conveniently enough, that's where they put the armchairs. Hopefully they aren't taken..!
