It's been a long time since DOMA and the Orichalcos business. Perhaps you've forgotten all about it, the legends that went with it, the dragons and knights that went with it. Or like a jerkass maybe you've just been pretending it never existed in the first place, so what if it was filler, it was good. It's been years since then, years since the ( Read more... )

Yuugi had been pretty baffled when he noticed that Atem disappeared out of thin air. The dragons roars really had come second in his rush to find where he had gone, though it became a little more frantic when he realized how real and close those roars were.

Was Kaiba-kun letting his solid-visions fly around outside or something? It would be unlike him. Yuugi moved outside and looked up to the sky to look for any Blue Eyes or maybe a Red Eyes.

Instead there was not!Atem. Someone Yuugi actually remembered from that time! It was kind of hard to forget, he was a soul that was going to be eaten by a giant Leviathan back then.

This person then, he was the dragon! This was...

"Timaeus!" And Yuugi rushed over and greets him with a hug as if welcoming home an old friend, and one could argue that was somewhat true.

The hug wasn't met with great enthusiasm. Instead there was soft grunt of pain as his wounds were pulled with the tightness of that embrace. He wasn't as warm or as welcoming as Atem would have been with it either.

"Good, you remember." That meant they didn't have to waste a lot of time on greetings.

Yuugi pulled away immediately at the grunt. "Are you hurt?! Hey come inside, let me get you bandaged up okay?" He took his arm. "The shop isn't far. What happened to you? What's brought you back here suddenly?"

Yuugi's concern for the other was out weighing the fact that something terrible could be happening but he was still, he didn't completely ignore that fact.

"Do you know where Atem is?"

"It's nothing." He said quickly, pulling away at a faster rate to save some face. His sword was quickly sheathed and he forced himself to stand at his full height.

"And that's a long story- one best discussed elsewhere." He didn't want to go into details when he couldn't exactly see who was around them.

Cissnei, for one, has no idea about what was going on. When she's suddenly surrounded, her hackles are raised and eyes narrowed, arm already glowing with a spell from the materia she keeps ever present on her arm.

She's interrupted, however, by the man's appearance, started only briefly before she turns around and takes care of the ones behind them, or at least attempts to. They get set on fire either way.

"Atem?" She questions the man, but doesn't approach him. He's not dressed as he had previously been, and she regards him wairly. Even if he wasn't, she knows that an injured state will make any person more tense.

The woman wasn't one he remembered, but if she had been with Atem that probably made her his friend. It was enough to keep him from doing anything ridiculous as far as hacking and slashing at random people went. He did try to back off his sword despite his injuries, not wanting to look entirely ragged.

His head shook as he turned to look at her. "My name is Timaeus." The greeting was offered with a gruff in his voice. The sword was sheathed afterwards, even when it left his own stance slightly bent. "I'll be taking Atem's place for a while."

"Taking his place?" She questioned him, still wary even though he seemed to know what he was talking about. She is mildly distracted by the bodies however, and knows they need to move. If that wasn't enough, there was a King of Games lookalike weilding a sword in the middle of Domino.

"We need to move, you can awnser me while we do." Cissnei gestures after scanning the area, moving and expecting him to move after.

The man nodded, adjusting his sword (almost nervously) in its sheath before he took after her. His movements were slightly stilted and he tried his best to avoid hobbling. Sometimes it didn't work.

"It's not a story best explained out in the open, anyway."

Atem was gone, and he was under attack. Kaiba fell into automatic behaviors after that. Both hands dropped to his pockets, with one pulling the handgun he carried on him when he went out without security. The other hand remained where it was, just resting on his deck for now. Whenever Atem was involved, it was better to be prepared for...more unusual attacks.

He wasn't expecting a defender, though. The safety on his handgun has only just been removed when the swordsman dropped in front of him. In the state he was in, Kaiba didn't really recognize him. With the time now given to him, he pivoted to shoot any stragglers. The gun aimed at the vaguely familiar man's head just as quickly. Kaiba couldn't take any chances.

"Explain!" The brunet hissed. Where his rival went, who those men were, what they wanted, who he was, everything.

The grip on his sword got tighter when he was shouted at by the brunet. It was unfortunate that the CEO had wandered into his blind spot. The man had to turn fully to be able to see him at all, and he almost felt like moving with that weapon in the other's hand would cause more harm than good, but it was unavoidable now.

His eye flicked towards the weapon before raising to Kaiba's own eyes. He remembered this man, maybe with some soft fondness (perhaps attributing to his reminiscence of his warrior), but now wasn't the time to explore that.

He was also very sure that trying to tell him now wasn't the time and to leave wasn't going to work. His sword was sheathed, though reluctantly, to try and speed things along. "Dartz has made a second move to destroy the one he harbors a grudge for. A grudge so strong it gave the Leviathan the ability to pull him back into the depths of hell."

The brunet relaxed slighty when the sword was sheathed, but the gun never wavered from the other man's head. Blue eyes narrowed sharply at the answer.

"So he can pull who he likes?" Kaiba said, his mind immediately going to Mokuba. Of course, he himself was likely more at risk if this was true. Not that that was likely. Finally, though, the gun was lowered.

"You should be with Atem, not here," Kaiba said coolly.

"He has Critias and Hermos." The warrior said with another gruff, almost slightly put off by the idea that they were better than he. It wasn't that, and he knew it wasn't, but that he couldn't be there was a slight smack to his pride. "Aside that, he has to do this himself anyway." Not that it made him feel any better.

His eye lowered and his stance caved slightly as the pain started up again. "Either way, Dartz was after him and just him this time. He thinks this plan will be much better somehow." A scoff.

Ryou looked around frantically when Atem had disappeared. What was happening now, of all things? Didn't they ever get a break from this magical nonsense?

But, in his place was another person in armor with a missing eye. He certainly looked like Atem, but something was different. Maybe a long-lost relative or something? It wouldn't surprise her, after everything else.

Though, with how he was leaning on the sword, her concern overpowered her feelings for the current situation.

"Are you all right?"

The knight had to turn so that he could get her in his full vision, looking her up and down, confused as to who the woman might be. He let up off his sword, sheathing it as soon as that question was asked.

"I'm fine." Whoever she was, she'd obviously been with Atem and thus important to the man. "Are you alright?"

She frowned, knowing that he looked hurt, probably more than he was letting on. But, if he did display any more signs of being hurt...

She looked around again. At least the cloaked figures were gone. But so was Atem, and this... person was in his place.

"Yes, I'm fine." Not a scratch on her, from what she could tell. "What were those things?"

"The only shadow knights I could manage to pull with me." The number had been pithy, and he hated not being by his other knights' sides. Critias and Hermos would finish off the ones he hadn't managed to capture. But still...

"Either way, they'll be the last ones passing through." Which was a shame, really, because he was entirely in the mood for more bloodshed.

There was no need for him to come to her aid. That was the first thought that entered her mind when this stranger appeared before Cosmos. She wasn't rattled or disturbed by the roar of the dragon or the cloaked figures that surrounded her. She appeared more than calm, perhaps even stoic, preparing to raise her hand to summon her scepter to do away with them in her civilian clothes. Instead, he appeared and did the job for her.

"There was no need for that," she tells him, tilting her head to the side to further study him. He...looked familiar, like a distant memory. So close for her to grasp and yet still out of her reach.

Or perhaps it's his armor that strikes a chord within her, reminding her of her former life with her senshi and the Earth's prince.

He had to turn completely to get her into his line of sight, but still was leaning hard on his sword. He didn't feel like he was up to leaning off of the hilt after that expenditure of energy. The warrior only hoped that he wasn't bleeding too hard underneath all his armor, but that was to be worried about later.

"I brought them with me, so yes, there was."

Blue eyes narrowed ever so slightly. He brought them with him? Was he a new enemy, another incarnation of Chaos? He did kill those cloaked figures without hesitation, protecting her in a way. Was it a clever plan to try and gain her trust or a simple act of heroism? It was hard to tell what his motives were, but easy to see he was hurt.

"You wanted to put others in danger?" she asked, keeping her voice even and calm as she summoned her staff. Up from the ground came a scepter of white with a crystal with wings resting on the top. She reached out to hold it in her hand. She wasn't going to attack him, at least not yet, not unless he gave her a reason to.

"I did away with them." He said bluntly, pulling his sword from the soil and holding it tightly. She had a weapon now, and it had come from nowhere. This could very easily have turned against him if he didn't pay attention and he hadn't come here to die.

The blade was not raised at her, however, but held close to him. "I killed them because I don't want them harming anyone else."
