Not impressed with the resolution of this episode. The rest of it was cute, but...

Urgh, that sounds really gross. I remember seeing the first eppy when it first aired and thinking it was super-cute, BUT this sounds so freaking gross. Fat hatred really bothers me.

I actually think the first season is great and you would like it if you liked the first episode. The second season is less great. Part of it is undoubtedly due to the fact that they were in constant danger of being canceled (and then WERE canceled), so they didn't get to explore all the storylines they set up in the first season, and they're obviously rushing through things in the second. The writing isn't as sharp and the stories are less delightful. But the first season showed real promise. Like Firefly, I think it could have been great if the networks had given it a chance.

Urgh, there are so many shows like that! Ugh, I seriously wish that shows weren't beholden to their networks.

And I can't help but wonder that if the world was just place, Firefly would still be on today despite Mal being a total kumbaya jerkface.

Yeah, these are the kinds of things that keep me from starting Pushing Daisies (well, that and the fact that I'm not even caught up on Dexter these days!). Though I LOVE Kristin Chenoweth, and she talks about it a teenie bit in her book A Little Bit Wicked, which I recommend, if only as kind of feel-good bio stuff. Not to mention an interesting look into someone who has their Master's in Opera(!)

Kristin Chenoweth has a book?! How did I miss this?! Ahh, I love LJ for keeping me in the loop!

the thing is, most of the episodes aren't like this. this was the first one that really rubbed me the wrong way. that's one reason why I was so disappointed in it, sigh.

I didn't even know you could GET a master's in opera. awesome.
