In geek news. I just ordered a new desktop: core 2 duo, 4GB ram, big ass sata drives, nvidia something, etc... but.

I can't decide what OS to install on it.

I have never been in this position before, but there are actually now many more options than a few years ago all with their own positives and negatives. I was making a list for myself so ( Read more... )

yea, im totally thinking that. my main concern is that there is no official upgrade path, I think when the new versions come out I will have to wait for people to crack the installer then install it fresh rather than doing an upgrade.

I have a dvd for 10.4.9 that will supposedly install on anything that has similar hardware to what apple sells. I can't find 10.4.10 yet though. If I don't install it on my main desktop im going to install it on something so I'll let you know how it works.
