I am so glad to hear that you had an excellent time! The pool was unexpected, but great fun. Next time we will need to bring swimsuits. I do not think the costume rental company was happy with the condition of my costume. But it was worth it for such youthful bonding!

Hey, if you had fun, the extra money was worth it, right? Havin' fun was the whole point of it. Youthful is as youthful does, man, and I'm good with bonding just as much as you are. (Even if the adjectives we use are different.)
