Damn, went too far. And I know it was just a coping mechanism, too, so it was probably a bit cruel to do that, but by god some people just don't get it. This is all my fathers fault. He didn't have to marry a Muggle and father a mudblood, but having done so the least he could do was revise his opinions. And maybe he did, when he first married her. ( Read more... )

That's quite an opinion you've got there Miss Fawcett. I take it you don't care much for the politics behind this war then?

Er, sorry, I worked up a bit of a rant there. I've calmed down now. Didn't end up going to Diagon Alley at all, had a screaming match with my dad and just went downtown.

But yes, as you can tell, I'm bloody sick of it. Once I got thinking about it it all just seemed so... pointless.

But it's not pointless, really. It's about survival, and about the right to live. You-Know-Who and you know that looks really funny written down... doesn't have a right to decide who lives and who dies and we have the right to fight back when severely wronged. That's all... At least, that's how I see it. But I suppose everyone's allowed their own opinion of it all.

Well, he may have started it, but has it occurred to you that we aren't dealing with the problem? Yes, we're "fighting for survival" as you say - and then what? The problem will still be here. Voldemort and I'm not bloody scared of HIM either, you know who my ass is not the problem. We are the problem, and I mean We as in EVERYONE, not just one of the so called "sides". We don't care about it except when it's knocking at our door, dark mark in hand. It's like being hexed and just buying rash cream instead of taking the curse off!

Damn, I'm starting to rant again. It's not.. it's just all stupid, that's all.

Being a muggle is not terrible you act as if it is as bad as being You-Know-Who
My mum was a muggle-born and I do not see anything wrong with that.

...hello? What? Can you read? Being a muggle is not terrible. It's just inconvenient. Or have you forgotten my mother was one? hah, trumped you in the my family history is more tolerant than yours category... what am I saying? Seriously, if you don't get the point, don't comment. I probably should have made this entry private, I was just seeing red at the time.

Err maybe to you it's inconvenient. I don't like you anyway. you should have been a Slytherin.

Oh, honestly. Just... just go back and read my entire entry over again, okay? Now, tell me, is the purpose of that entry to complain about muggles, muggleborns, or halfbloods?

Is it? Or is it, rather, an admittedly somewhat out of control rant about how the war is stupid and both sides piss me off? Hmm? Doing all right so far? Lovely. something about being smart, did you say? Ha, ha, sorting hat, ha

I have to say I agree with you on some points there. I'm a Half-blood myself, and I think the whole pureblood elitism bit is just stupid. But I do think that it's a bit...foolish, I suppose, to say you're not scared of them.

I know what ya mean, Da's a muggle and jus' sometimes, it feels like you'll never be as good as the purebloods, that maybe they've got somethin' we don'.

But then, jus' look at Malfoy, would ya really want to be anythin' l;ike that?

There's really one major flaw about you opinion, Miss Faucett. Sorry, I'll just call you Sophia. That's a bit of an old habit of mine, calling people by their surnames. Anyway, you say that you're angry at both sides. However, I don't know if you understand it completely. Those against You-Know-Who are only in this war out of necessity. If our side didn't exist, he would simply take over and bring darkness to the world. We're looking out for everyone, not just half-bloods and muggle borns. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, as long as they don't make evil with them. If I missed some vital part of your entry that deals with this, please point it out. Sorry for the inconvenience, in any case.

Yes, You have missed a vital part of the entry - or maybe I simply didn't make it clear enough. I'm not angry that "our" side is in this war, I'm angry that they think it's the only thing that's important, that there's no need to attack the attitudes beneath it, that once Voldemort is defeated everything will go away and it'll all be sunshine and roses again. When they had a part in creating him in the first place!

They had a part in creating him? How does that make sense? We aren't responsible for the beliefs of others. Some people are just more stubborn than others, and stick to their beliefs. You-Know-Who only wants power, and people follow him because they think he has the same goal as them. They don't realize that they're just as unimportant as the Muggles in his mind.

That's the point. How does a personality like that come into existence on it's own? Voldemort is as much a product of the times as you and I, and if we don't work on really changing society for the better, there will be another Voldemort in our lifetime, or our childrens or our grandchildrens.
