My partner used to be like that! But we've been together for so long now that he's kind of just given up. Ash was in total denial about being Chosen, especially because his parents and the TV and everything were like "ohhhhh my gosh, digimon are dangerous!!!1". So, like, maybe your partner doesn't want to be Chosen, or he's scared of digimon or something? And maybe you have, like, amnesia!
