CHARACTER
NAME: DG (This is not shortened, this is her real name, BUT for the purpose of Records and Files, and because she can tell them that its not her name, I would like to assume that she is named Dorothy Gale. This is what the DG stands for, even if it’s not legally her name)
AGE: 21
GENDER: Female
FANDOM: Tin Man (Made for TV Movie)
TIMELINE PERIOD: Taken after the end of the movie. The eclipse has passed, the wicked witch is gone once again, and DG has her family back as well as her friends.
ABILITIES: DG has a magic about her that has been passed down from generation to generation. She can open any sealed door with a wave of her hand, levitate objects with her mind, and in general do small protective spells, especially when she’s with her sister. Sadly she’s not had the time to become any good with it, and even so it’s suppressed here anyhow, so that’s pretty much useless. On the other hand she’s got a good sense of mechanics, having grown up around faulty machinery most of her Normal World life. She can figure out how to get a generator running or a battery charged pretty well, though she’s no grease monkey. She did piece together and tinker on her own motorbike though, so she’s not at a complete loss.
Other strengths would be that she’s nearly fearless. Not completely because no one is utterly fearless, and things do scare her. Being faced with a deranged doctor wanting to take out her brain is not something to bravely face and smile at, at least not to her. The point being is that she isn’t scared of brutes and people wronging others. She’s not going to back down when someone starts bullying. It’s been proven in canon that when seeing the local law, Long Coats, beating up on a family, that she thoughtlessly and no mind for her own safety, grabbed a fallen branch of wood, brandishing it in both hands, and charged off at a full run, swinging it at the Long Coats in order to knock them out. Thoughtless yes, but she wastes no time in doing what has to be done. Picking up a rock here and trying to beat someone, or something, off another person will not be unheard of.
She is also good with making friends rather fast and easy. A trusting soul, especially when you have shown you can be trustworthy, which really could be a weakness, but she’s generally a heartfelt girl who believes in people.
CHARACTER HISTORY: Raised in a small town in Kansas, DG had the simple most boring life. A farm child living with her older looking mother and father, helping with the fields and the chickens and what not, DG grew up wanting to travel, to get away from it all. Instead she found herself stuck in a diner job serving apple pie with a hunk of sharp cheese on it. What a fulfilling life.
Though the years, DG had been having some of the strangest dreams about a woman with lavender eyes and a city and world she had no clue about or had ever seen. Most of the time she would wake up and draw what she saw (A sign post, a city in the trees, a gazebo on a lake edge, a palace on a lake and snow, and so on). Her father encouraged it, inquiring about these things, mostly because it reminded him of home.
Unknown to DG these dreams were being sent to her by her real mother, back in the OZ. She was warning her that the Storm was coming. To be more to the point it was a Travel Storm which would take her back to her real home of in the Outer Zone (OZ). The evil queen Azkadellia sent some of her best Long Coats to go collect little DG because she was told and shown that the only person who could stop her was this young girl. She wanted her killed, but because of DG's fantastic foster parents having the proper mind to push her into the travel storm, she was sent to OZ to save the lands and defeat the evil queen.
Having landed in a strange forest like land, DG goes through many adventures on her way Central City (or the city of green) that lead her to making many friends. A very interesting fellow named Glitch who was missing his brain and had a zipper in his noggin, a tough and heartless ex-Law Tinman named Wyatt Cane, a fearful abused beast man named Raw who’s been used by the queen for his mental abilities, and a shape shifter dog lovingly nicknamed Tutor (Toto for short). With this group of people, DG finds herself learning of her true past, and how everything here seemed so well connected.
In her travels she finds out that the lavender eyed woman is her real mother, trapped by the evil queen until the day that all of the OZ is covered in darkness and ruled by her. She also finds that the evil Queen Azkadellia is her older sister. The two had been separated long ago when it was presumed that DG had died. Her sister had come to her room and took her life, leaving with a sadistic smile, so she knew now that her prophecy would never come true, and she really would rule all.
DG's mother and father were smart and separated, her father, Ahamo took off with the presumed dead DG, taking her to a pair of robotic people, having them raise her in the other world, outside of the OZ, where she would be safe. He then disappeared, leaving behind no traces. Azkadellia captured her mother and locked her away on a mystical island.
Though her travels, DG remembers things, remembers her use of magic, and remembers that her sister, the evil queen became the way she was today because of her. Because of DG and her silly little child like adventures she had made Az fall to evil. It was when they were children, playing in caves not far from the lake side retreat that it happened.
“Nothing can happen to us if we stay together.” Her sister had told her, their hands locked together and their sisterly magic protecting them. But when that wicked old witch started to come closer to them, about to grab them inside that dank dirty old cave, DG, only 9 at the time, flipped out and let go, running away. Poor Azkadellia was left to be possessed by the wicked witch and forever more controlled.
In the end the witch forced Az to kill her sister and walk away, wanting the little sister out of the way so she couldn’t stop the prophecy. Their mother found DG laying cold and dead in her bed, but she couldn’t let this happen, so she breathed half her magical power into her, bringing her life once again. It was then that she had her husband take her and run away to hide her.
After learning all of this DG found that she was the only one who would defeat her sister, to take her down and in a small hope, bring her back to her old self. This was exactly what she, and her little band of friends pulled off, too. While they were going to close down the focusing weapon that would bring darkness to all, DG confronted her sister and the witch, begging for her to remember, to come back. They had been such good friends, and she remembered it all now. She pleaded for her sister to come out, to take her hand, because nothing could happen to them if they stayed together. “I won’t let go again, Az, I promise, I wont let go.”
Azkadellia took her sisters hand, and the girls pulled her from the witch that was possessing her. The witch threw a fit, but tried to continue with the focusing. It was then that the other group had closed it down, the power failing and the witch disappearing for good in a puddle of nasty black goo, melted away.
From that point on, DG remembered everything, stayed in the palace with her sister and her parents, the true King and Queen, as well as her friends. Though this wouldn’t last for long it seemed, as after enjoying a lazy day in the village near by with friends, she returned home to sleep and woke up… well not at home.
“I don’t think we’re in the OZ anymore, DG.”
CHARACTER PERSONALITY: As calm as she seems she’s a bit of a spitfire. A strong young girl raised in the flats of Kansas, she’s grown to have a good sense of humor, a strong large heart, and a good sense of justice. Making friends is simple for DG as she’s one of those people that everyone tends to adore (or just really loves to hate), though not always, of course. DG tends to look things over a lot before commenting, checking out the situation and thinking first… sometimes. On action situations she has a bad habit of jumping in first and worrying about the danger later. Not too grandly expressive DG still seems to be a normal, average young woman with a lightly troubled past. Since her last adventure ended she’d grown more chipper and happy, though that can’t last too long.
Honest and brave she isn’t one to scream her head off at the first sign of danger, tends to stay quiet and doesn’t cry much. This isn’t to say she wouldn’t cry if hurt or scared, but to say that she would break down in sobs because she was alone would be wrong. She has her own set of emotions, and although they may seem distant or disconnected at first, the more you get to know her the more you know she has a well of emotion.
She’s not exactly a leader type of person, and yet she’s good at taking control of a situation (if she can) and leading a small group of people through trouble and danger. As a child she seemed fearless, walking into a cave with out a care in the world, letting curiosity and adventure drive her on. When faced with real fears though she definitely becomes scared. As a child she ran from her fears, but now, much older, she will stand and face them if she needs to. Because of this willingness to stand and face her fears she can help others face their own as well. Pep talks to her friends, to make them understand that they had the brains, heart and courage all alone come easy to her because of this, though half the time she doesn’t think about herself.
We come to the point that she is rather selfless, offering help and giving things to others when she herself can use them. If someone else needs it, she would rather pass it on to them instead. This goes for words of wisdom or just a blanket or the last cup of water. As long as her friends, or those weaker then her have what they need, then she feels accomplished and as if she helped in some little way. It’s not that she looks for praise or she needs to feel accomplished in order for her to keep going, it’s just part of her nature. She’s just a very giving person.
PREDICTED BEHAVIOR: DG will want to go home for sure, so sitting around isn’t exactly a good or sensible plan to her. She will definitely talk to anyone she can to figure out where she is. She’s not much of a mother hen, but when a friend is hurt she will offer help to take care of it. She won’t storm off to get revenge though, because that wouldn’t make sense. On the other hand… she might try to whollop another patient or a security guard if she finds them hurting another person. When called to therapy she will more then likely go easily an hope that it won’t be too bad in the end.
POSITION: Patient
DIAGNOSIS:
===>Psychosis - Displaying Delusions and Hallucinations. Psychosis (not to be misdiagnosed with psychopathic or sociopath terms) is an abnormal condition of the mind. Also described often as a “loss of contact with reality”. DG displays this by her ideas of Oz and her ability to use Magic, the thought of evil witches and other things. This is where the “Delusions” come in, as well as some of the Hallucinations. Of course this diagnosis is false and not at all fitting, well it’s fitting, but she really is a Princess who uses magic and storm to travel though and what not.
===>Parasomnia Sleep Disorder - Sleep Terrors (mild). Not such a false diagnosis, DG has a small bout of Sleep Terrors (Also known as Night terrors). This is something she’s had since she was little, ever since her death by her sisters had and her removal from her home taking her to Kansas. When she sleeps she will sometimes have sleep terrors that she almost never remembers much about. What she does remember she tries to put down in a drawing, but it never makes sense to her. Now that she’s returned home a lot of it starts to make sense now, but the terrors still crop up once in a while. Generally she will wake up with a start, a gasp or shortness of breath. She will still be half asleep and 7 times out of 10 will turn back over and sleep a bit longer. Once in a while she will wake up, fully awake.
SAMPLES
THIRD PERSON: She’d been around Fanaqua, one week after the events that changed her life. Wandering the maze she knew by heart, she took it slow, enjoying it. It’s been a week since she was here, and that time she had rushed through it in a quest. Now she just wandered aimlessly.
A few of her friends, her sister and her parents were waiting on the other side, a picnic ready just to relax and celebrate such a good turn of events. Everything was starting to fall back into place really. Her magic and her memories were all coming back in full, the kingdom was once again in shape and starting to grow again in beauty, and she was… well happy.
So her confusion was acceptable when she woke up, finding herself sitting on a stone floor, not grass or moss, and in a tiny room not a vast lake outdoors. Something had startled her awake, a feeling of panic or dread. A draining feeling, as if all the cheer and magic had just… fled her body. Sitting up and looking around, the first person she found herself calling for was her oldest friend “Glitch?!” Then “Mister Cain?”
No one answered though. Testing the door she found it locked as well. The room was small, with a bed and a chair, all nailed down to the floor it seemed. There were windows covered in grime and a very dark feel to it all. This place was at least cleaner then the tower her sister had locked her in last week, so at least that didn’t bother her.
Silent for a bit, she stood there, blue pants and shirt on once again, though nicer, sneakers to match, her hands in her leather jacket. This was all strange, and nothing seemed familiar, but she was getting used to that wasn’t she.
FIRST PERSON:
[A small gasp of breath as someone sat bolt upright. A scraping of shoes and a dusting of her pants as she got up off the stone floor.]
… Glitch? Mister Cain?
Where am I? Mister Cain? [Called out. Tries the door but finds it locked.]
At least it’s cleaner then the tower… but where is it?
NOTES: New character with a prewriten history from the other app, so it's a bit long, sorry.
