Notes:
- Mello is currently making money through the buying, selling, and trading of illegal goods. Drugs, weapons, whatever the hell is in demand. Don't expect him to get in the middle of the action if he can help it (that's what goons are for), but he's willing to get his hands dirty if he needs to. Jack Kelly is his chocolate bitch, but not all of those boxes he drags around town for Mello are filled with delicious confections. He is currently eyeing Faye Valentine as a possible replacement. She at the least seems more capable of handling the more dangerous jobs that he hadn't bothered assigning Jack.
He liked the kid enough. Seeing him go is a little unsettling, if anything because Jack had arrived after him.
He hasn't established a huge network, and isn't handling many deals right now, but enough to keep the money rolling in for chocolate, a basic stash of weapons and emergency cash, and the occasional night out on the town.
- He's still avoiding Light for the most part -- he's not interested in getting tangled up with the delusional bastard just yet. There's no need for it, and while death in Template seems to not be much of a concern, he's holding off on any unnecessarily stupid risks.
- The arrival of the second Light really does not amuse him.
- He's still a little hung up on dying, and getting Matt killed.
- Because of that freak girl, Edward, he's quite interested in the details behind the workings of the second level. He's determined to be on top of the efforts to hack said level, via either Matt, Edward, or both. He has also considered the possibility of the city actually being a computer, but the existence of laws governing supernatural forces at this point is actually pretty logical.
