Start of a new beginning (Thread for Chris)

There was something exciting about moving across the country. She wasn't moving JUST for Chris - even though she found herself thinking about him almost constantly - it was just time for Dawn to live her own life. It made sense to move to Kansas, she'd be close to Dean and Sam in case anything happened and she got to see Chris ( Read more... )

Chris had a day off, yes, but he was cleaning out the fridge at the apartment and doing laundry. Cleaning the fridge was straight-forward enough. Anything that smelled wrong or was growing something was tossed and the interior was wiped down. Not that their fridge became that bad, of course. Lewis was a cook, after all, and he wouldn't put up with it. Some things snuck in under his radar.

Laundry was easy enough. Chris had written instructions for each step, posted in the kitchen and by the washer and drier. He had a timer to set so he'd remember to go down to the building's basement and check on each load. He was moving the wash to the drier when his cell phone rang. Pulling it out of his pocket, he answered it "Hello" and upon finding out it was Dawn, added, "You're here? Like, here here?" He'd known she was moving to Kansas, of course, and even knew it was this week, but he'd lost track of the time.

She'd just been moving all day. Mostly directing the movers of where to put her stuff in rooms and the likes. Dean had made sure that furniture came along with the deal, much to Dawn's surprise of actually having a bed to sleep in first night.

Dawn grinned and leaned against her door frame to her room. "I'm here here. We got in a day early, thought I'd call and see what you were up to or if you wanted to come over and investigate."

Chris smiled, even though she couldn't see him, of course. He didn't have a video phone or anything like it and it would likely be too complicated for him to deal with if he did.

"Sure, I'd like to come over. Uh..." He glanced down at the wet laundry. "I'm... doing laundry and I have to finish it first... sorry..." Lewis would be pissed off if it didn't get done.

"Well, I'll be here all night, so take your time and come over whenever you're done. There's no big hurry" She smiled a bit and looked around.

Really, she didn't see how there was a bit of a hurry because they had all the time in the world to catch up on things. It was really..nice to think of it that way.
