[Walking home from the hospital, Mika moves slowly, finding things to rest against in her halting trip. Her head is bandaged and her limbs tremble from the strain. The weakness in her bad leg seems to have gotten much worse. Strange spidery blotches mark her legs, and her feet seem to be bandaged as well from what can be seen around

[And the Doctor is coming to put a hand on her shoulder, steadying her.]

Blimey, you don't look so well.

[Mika starts, nearly with a scream as she flinches away from the touch before she recognizes the Doctor.

Just in time to save him from a swift bludgeoning, if the way she's brandishing her cane is any clue.]

Sorry, you scared me for a moment there.

[She's almost shouting, like she can't hear herself.]

[He starts, pulling back slightly, before once again putting a steadying hand on her shoulder.]

What's happened? Why can't you hear properly?

What? Beer? No thank you, I don't drink it.

[That rushing sound is really a bother, and she returns to leaning on her cane.]

[Crowley doesn't look like himself. Actually, he looks rather like a woman. A very attractive woman, no less. But he's still driving his Bentley and he's still wearing his sunglasses when he pulls up beside Mika.]

Mika? Get in. I'll drive you where you need to go.

[She squints, nearly shouting even though it isn't necessary.]

Who the hell are you and what are you doing in Crowley's car?

Er... Sorry, sorry. I am Crowley. Just a bit of a change.

[He steps out of the car, stiletto heels clicking on the pavement.]

Come on, Mika. Let me take you somewhere.

[She's squinting harder at him? Her? Straining uncomfortably to hear.]

I just want to get home, thanks. Or find someone that can fix this.

[Quinn walks downstairs after just barely hearing Mika, only to find her in a ball on the couch.]

Mika, did y-- Whoa, hey now. What happened?

[She can't make out what he said, but she has a feeling she knows what he's saying. He looks like he's freaking out, at any rate.]

Just got out of the hospital. Black Mage hit me with a lightning spell, blasted my eardrums out. I can't hear anything over the whooshing noise.

Also caught some spasm fits for my trouble. I feel like shit, Quinn.

[Quinn does look a bit freaked, processing all this. He goes to say something, then stops. He darts into the kitchen and comes back out with a pad of paper and pen, and proceeds to write.]

Is there anything I can do? Who is Black Mage?

[She peers at the pad while he writes, sniffing dejectedly.]

Dunno, unless you know someone that can fix my head. Black Mage is a nasty little man who's been running around with a bag over his head lately.

Also did I mention he works at the hospital with me?
