poets who use image/metaphor

So maria wants me to compare the techniques for metaphor that I have found in some global contemporary poets with some American poets who use Image and Metaphor? So who does that make you think of. I made it to Williams and Pound. I'd like some more from the 50s -80s. please help

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I'm a complete asshole, yesterday I came home with a splitting headache and felt like I had a lobotomy. I'm not going to be very good at this, because most of my understanding is US-centric. Perhaps compare lyric traditions, factoring in the US confessional mode? Focus on the use of "I" in Robert Lowell, etc?

for image at the moment, i think of james wright.
