To say that Claudia's last spring break wasn't going well so far would be a bit of an understatement. Artie had convinced her to skip out on Rio to be at the Warehouse for the computer upgrade, but had neglected to note that the upgrade wasn't happening until the end of the week. So why had they needed her back in town by Saturday?
To meddle.
She wasn't sure exactly how her date with Todd last night had been so phenomenally, terribly awkward. Her date with Matt hadn't been awkward -- well, maybe a little, but in a cute way. Maybe it was because she'd gone on the date in part because every single one of her coworkers wasn't going to let up on how cute he was until she did -- and it wasn't like she could tell them about Matt. Then they'd want to, you know, know things about Matt. Maybe it was Artie's terrible attempt at fatherly advice that had set her in an awkward mood before she even got to the restaurant.
Maybe it was Todd.
Nah.
So now, here she was, after helping to rescue Myka from an evil youth-stealing camera (she'd always known high fashion could be killer, but sheesh), meeting Artie in a diner, with every intention of giving him a piece of her mind. But then, of course, he had to go and give actual fatherly type advice and be really sweet and the Artie she knew he always had hidden deep under those vicious attack eyebrows and bolster her confidence up again.
"You know," she told him. "When you told me to meet you here, I thought for sure you were arranging some nice awkward meetup with Todd."
"Todd!" Artie said, only looking a little bit sheepish. "Fancy meeting you here!"
Claudia turned, saw Todd coming up, his hands in his pockets all sheepish. "Todd!" And then he smiled and Claudia's knees went ever so slightly buttery.
Okay, maybe she'd give Todd another chance. What? It wasn't like she and Matt were a thing or anything, right?
