Okay, so I think I'm going to give EFT a try on a couple of issues I've been holding on to for too long. Would you recommend working with a practioner if I'm apprehensive about trying it first by myself? I'm sure there must be someone practicing EFT in Wellington.

Well, most practitioners tend to be (also) psychologists or psychiatrists - so they charge at those rates - ie, $80/hr and up. A guy I know here charges $160/hr - and he's not even a trained psych-anything. That's pretty pricey ( ... )

Woah, that is pricey!

That's funny, I did think to myself after my comment that maybe I could use tapping on my nervousness about doing EFT on my own as a way to start without feeling too overwhelmed by dealing with something BIG straight away! You're absolutely right though, I think that is a very decent way to start.

Thanks for all the tips! I've read all of Gala's EFT articles before but I think I'll read them again before I try it so I can feel as prepared as possible. Thanks for the link to your site, I haven't seen it before but I will definitely check it out now!

Merci!

Yep, EFT has definitely been used for all that sort of thing. ALthough, frankly, if the person's body was that worn down, I'd also recommend going raw - if they were going to achieve anything before they completely died, they'd need all the help they could get.

My suggestion would be to go to emofree and search on keywords. You'll find plenty of examples of pretty much anything. All written by therapists who've used EFT on their clients in those circumstances.

If you're super keen, emofree also has a DVD set you can get (at stupidly low prices) which covers successfully using EFT for "more serious" diseases.

That's where I'd start.
