learning to walk

There was an interesting article in NY Mag recently, on walking. Specifically, how because of shoes, we walk in a way that is seriously damaging us. By age 40, 80% of us have some muscular-skeletal foot or ankle problem. By 50-55 that goes up to 90-95 ( Read more... )

well, the choices aren't just "comfortable" or "sub-par" - there ARE other options you know :)

Also, with the joints hurting etc - that's because you're walking wrong (as everybody does). Trick is to change how you walk. Even with the best shoes on the planet, you're still going to mess up your joints if you're walking incorrectly - & this is exactly what's happening in America.

my feet dont hurt with nice shoes

nor do my bones or my hips

joints hurt from too much fluoride in water causing weak bone formation to some degree? and just bad diet aka TOO MUCH FAT , so joints have bad weight load on them to support it, and other factors like A LACK OF WALKIN , and driving everywhere so lack of muscle to keep the bone fit?

and many other reasons i suspect

of course walking on bare feet would be good, if you had no western world issues and lived in a cave

well, that's exactly the deal with these shoes. They allow you to walk exactly the same as you would barefoot, but your feet are still protected.

That's why they're so cool!

*laugh*

yeah, it's crazy. They sell them on Neal St in London, and Elizabeth St in Manhattan. You can also buy them off the web, but you'll need to know what size you are.

Apparently they've just received orders in America for three THOUSAND pairs - so I guess you're not the only one who read that article and went "but of course!"
