But yes, seeing as how Kris's father basically pioneered the field of Invalid rehabilitation (and on compassionate grounds), Kris can resist all he wants but the notion of rehabilitating and reintegrating them back into society is pretty deeply engrained in him, even with the resentment he harbours for his father.

leather books? small books never contain anything.... pleasant So now I'm curious, haha. Lay said that while he can re-construct tissue, he can easily tear it apart, that being the opposite of what he usually does....
LOL IKR, although I just watched an episode of a tv show where a small leather book that was supposed to contain something kinda intense and scary ended up to be a cook book haha.
As Yixing said "but it’s not always opposite and very rarely equal, so Kai's paired power isn't really a counter but it's what was referenced in previous chapters that his teleportation isn't limited to travelling through the physical world but extends to the subconscious world too :)
