Clergy Appreciation Day? Awesome. It's about time I was appreciated for something. (Even if it's only a pseudo-official title).

Or, I can take it in this direction...

Thanksgiving is not about commemorating genocide. It's about being thankful for everything in your life. It may originally have been started as being thankful for the indigenous help, but now it's not about that at all.

Also, holidays are a way for people to forget about their problems for one day, even if it involves something commercial. People are too stressed out and you can't blame them for wanting to relax once in a while.

Also, I had many holidays off when I worked at the library. And as a teacher, you will have labor day off and it will be paid. Don't bitch.
