I subbed at Roosevelt High School for the first time this year-a place I subbed at 16 times in the previous 2010-11 school year.  It’s a typical high school, better than some and worse than few.  As a substitute, I encounter a number of people-students, staff, and teachers-that perplex me with their bumbling idiocy.  The tale I bring forth today ( Read more... )

It’s been just over a month since I moved, and most things are going good.  I finally went out and bought the much needed stand for my TV, and cable and internet was hooked up yesterday after a month of living in what seemed like a cave.  The AT&T U-Verse people pissed me off royally, so we went with Comcast, which is actually a better deal anyway ( Read more... )

While my laptop is being fixed, I've been bored to death.  I don't have a job or a computer to soak up my time.  I've just been sleeping as late as I can and bouncing back and forth from TV and actually going outside, although it is raining today.  Without my laptop, I can't apply for teaching jobs, so I had to put that on hiatus for a few weeks.  ( Read more... )
