Freya's first stop, after leaving Charlie's room at the inn, was to find a local phone directory and look up John Smith. It didn't take too long to figure out which Smith was which, and she got the address for his office.
She uses the time it takes her to walk there (and despite the fact it's a small time, it does take her a while to get her bearings and find the office) to try and figure out what she's going to say to him. She knows what she wants to do -- he seems like the kind of guy who has at least some idea of what the situation is, and she could use that right about now. But how to explain her questions?
